We banned a couple thousand open proxies off a list and I watched this guy try to log in and relog in for 3 hours. You could tell it was the same guy behind the smurfs, same CPU speed and lobby client every time.
It'll be nice to have uberlobby up, at least people can't spoof admin accounts and vital bots.
Thats pretty fucked up guy... 3 hours or more wasted time in just that... huh...SwiftSpear wrote:We banned a couple thousand open proxies off a list and I watched this guy try to log in and relog in for 3 hours.
You posted exactly what i thought about these incidents. Thats why i still wish we one day could get a uniqueid style of user registration, so anonymity wouldnt be so easy to obtain by renaming alone.Warlord Zsinj wrote:Man, I don't know why people feel anonymity gives them the license to be assholes. I'd just love to meet a loser like that in person for once
We have alot of tools towards getting close to that point, but unless we charge for spring accounts we're never going to be able to absolutely enforce a unique ID for every user (even then, it's still only a unique ID for every payment, if you can steal someone else's account you can still pretend to be them with your own true identity completely obscured)reivanen wrote:You posted exactly what i thought about these incidents.
