Do you know that a browser window can be resized to fit your needs?

In either case I'm not going to spend even a second time on it, no matter how easy it is, you can poke someone else with access.

Do you know what I do when I find the text on a site too wide to read? I resize the window. Fixed width is retarded, let people choose what width they read at.

Step one: Quit bitching.
Step two: Make the theme.
Step three: upload it and post link here.
Step four: site admin can make theme available as an option.

Step five: Lock this shitty thread

Edit: perhaps an admin can provide current theme here so it can be edited. Also, while we are bitching about themes, how about a forum theme that matches the site?

I lol'd at intelligent discussion.

But really now, all (fuck you / fuck me)s aside, variable width would be rather nice, please put make it work Forb (without flaming / ranting to everyone else or whatnot).

Many people prefer not to have to resize browser windows all the time.

@zellsf: That's why it would be user selectable. Try reading the thread next time.

@revenge: I don't have commit access.

Hello! :-)

I've been playing with phpBB3 themes and styles lately. With ProGrey as a base, changing the background, colors and other stuff you'd get a wonderful theme for this forum!
Today I got the user information on the left side of the screen again and I am working on other fun things!
At this rate, expect me to come back with an style in a couple months.

Peace and love!

I did. I'm still going to say it's a bad way of doing stuff, if it is user selectable or not is irrelevant to that statement :/

Then set it to a sane width once and be done with it.

You know that web sites are different, right? A simple text only forum benefits from less width than for example, an image gallery. There isn't a single sane width that can look great on all web sites.

And there isn't a single site width that looks right on all font settings in all browsers. If I'm browsing this site in my living room, I get a very narrow frame with only a few words per line. So really, you should leave it up to the user, who can choose to change his browser window. After all, maximise wasn't developed for an era of differnet aspect ratios.
