I think this problem should be solved by a mod option: every ally of a player self-d ing one or more units should get a button similar to the ".take xxx units" on BA or CA, during the self-d timeout.
Options:
- Game might be paused (and not unpausable by the self-d er).
- Might not apply to crawling bombs and such self-d friendly units.
- Might happen only if commander or all units is self-d ed.

Another solution:
- If the self-d leads to the death of the player, he is removed from the game (turned to spec) and self-d is canceled: units stay and can be .taken.

PS: i agree with the idea that forcing a last player to continue playing is pointless.

Just make it impossible..i use smurfs not to make players think im a new player..
If you knew what you were talkng about youd know i usually tell new players i dont want to play vs themcause therer wouldbe no point and none would enjoy the game..
