Even if it does exist, nothing beyond half-*ssed efforts will be done about it. It's not profitable to solve global warming.
Don't forget deforestation, death of sea life, etc. We're f-ing up the CO2<->O2 cycle big time within the last century. Not all of the excess CO2 is directly created by us, its just not getting recycled as much. Though, again our fault.
Polar ice caps across the solar system are melting, solar activity is up (12 year cycles?). But its anyone's guess to what degree the extra CO2 on earth will amplify that here.
Some argument I remember someone making:
Doesn't matter whether or not it exists, what matters is whether or not you act on it. If we don't do something its an all or nothing gamble. If we do something big, there's a minor penalty either way. Doing something is more worthwhile because you can't lose as much.
And if one side of the argument endorses some study/finding, likely that is a half truth or is ignoring an element completely.
+ solar activity
+ CO2 emissions
-CO2 recycling
Anything else that's a possible contributor?
As for me personally: I've done some of those CO2 footprint calculations, and I have more than enough of a mini-forest in my yards to cover my own emissions.

Most likely we helped. One way or another we need to deal with the problems being caused.

Theres another theory called Global Dimming that essentially says that man made pollution is actually compensating for itself in terms of temperature rise, by polluting the atmosphere that causes clouds to reflect much more sunlight than usual due to high amounts of polluted particles inside them.
This added reflectivity obviously means less sunlight actually gets to the surface and the net effect is a cooling of the planet. The implications of this are that it may well be the case that man made global warming could turn out to cause a much bigger impact on temperature rise than was first thought, given that the same environmental pollution that causes sunlight to be trapped is also causing it to be reflected.
If we completely cut down on man made pollution world wide the huge amount of "dirty cloud" coverage on the planet would drop very quickly (an example is smog over large cities) but the CO2 levels would drop much more slowly. The atmosphere would still be trapping a lot of heat but would no longer be reflecting as much sunlight. In effect, cutting down on pollution worldwide may actually make things a lot worse before better.
About large masses of ice melting, such as the north pole: Ice is obviously very reflective, and thus reflects a lot of sunlight. It's been shown by scientists that a large reduction in the amount of ice on the planet would cause a considerable reduction in the amount of sunlight reflected and would thus accelerate global warming. This is what worries me about global warming - it isnt linear.

Global Dimming. Definately worth a watch.

Serverfarms use Energy(from Powerplants CO²) to provide everybody with Flamewarz and alot of "useless" Heat for the Atmosphere.
So this Thread is the main Reason for global Warming. And this post is guilty for the next hurricane to come. So every Letter a V-I-C-T-I-M - Muhahahahaha

I hope so Swift - well lets test it - anybody out there dead? - Sudden Death, anyone? - Come on, it´s just one little last word? - No, sorry, just not the grand effect, i expected. But at least we did do something, not just heated discussion, we had body count.
One last try - hey it hurts - definatly - oh, now it gets pretty mean

Global dimming is just one of many fringe theories surrounding climate change that have popped up on either side of the debate.
Some others:
-Cutting down forests makes the planet's surface lighter, which reflects more sunlight and has a cooling effect.
-Melting icecaps will make the planet's surface darker, which will result in a catastrophic runaway heating and increase sea levels massively.

I made some paint to explain my thoughts:
Which is more likely? I think there being lots of catastrophic postitive feedback mechanisms waiting around the corner is BS, theyd be triggered naturally long ago.

Yes, certainly catastrophic feedback is virtually impossible... That being said, there's no reason why it's not possible to shift the balance of the existing system for unfavorable results. The reality is, even if it's natural, the globe is heating, and there are a plethora of problems that's going to cause us. And the inconvenient truth is that all reliable evidence so far indicates that we have contributed to some degree.
Like I said, it's arguable how much a reduction in carbon footprint per person would ultimately yield in results, if any... but it's really just one of the many precautions we should be taking, especially since... for the most part, it doesn't actually economically cost us virtually anything to make these changes. It's an investment in change that has a plethora of other advantages as well... like a huge reduction of the strain on our wavering oil powered electricity generation. Even if global warming is totally irrelevant to society in the long run, peak oil is not. We need a global slow down in energy usage MASSIVELY right now, as we search for new energy solutions to replace oil.
