There's no hint on their homepage or the Wiki and everyone I asked validated my thinking of X standing for "Xtreme" (or however you want to write it) just like it seems to be a pretty wide acceptance as you for example can see it HERE where people think of it the same way...

Or the X doesn't have a "deeper sense" (i.e. like a type description) at all but is kind of a declaration which would explain that the developers never did go into details here (at least I could find nothing)...

Btw, our original idea was to make AA: Extended, and then decided the name Extended Annihilation would sound more interesting. Our concepts included T2 Hovercraft [I love what you've done so far, but remember balancing those vs land/sea is a bitch], stuff like the blocker/egg that CA is using now, new defense turrets [such as a Pitbull equivalent for sea and Core Torpedo Metal Extractors], and possibly a naval/amphibious T3 to balance with T2 Hovercraft [which were made to be the most expensive "T2" platform anyways]. Also considered was moving some technologies like adv. fusion and vulcan/buzzsaw to a T3 all terrain constructor in the gantries, and making T3 more accessible and less end game.

It would be awesome if you finish your mod, I look forward to playing it! :-)

It's not really 100% necessary considering that everyone refers to xta as xta, but I'd recommend using a different name out of respect to Yxan and the SYs, considering that they're the ones who started this engine.

You will be surprised how much of what you said has already been included and yeah balancing those hovers is a bitch though land isn't the main problem (most Hovers are quite similar to existing tanks so you can adapt stats and costs pretty easy) but the sea can really give you a headache. When speaking of this I think I seriously need Modinfo for doing the final balance as I tend to more and more lose oversight over everything... :wink:

Yeah - I won't change the name right now and so Extended Annihilation now has become the working title... :-)

Besides that this is not going to be an "OMG PUT ALL THE COOL UNITS IN" mod.
Well you saw some new turrets, T2 Hover AA, T2 Hover Depthcharge Launcher, Core T2 Fast Raid Tank, T2 All-Terrain Transport Spider and T1 K-Bot Artillery plus some new buildings in the background.
Well what I'm planning to do is actually the same what Uberhack did to TA and Absolute Annihilation did to Uberhack (what I now know ) and that is adding in content that makes sense and the game more interesting...
Absolute annihilation took off some units from uberhack like the katyusha rockets, shotgun'o o bots and machineguns 'n shit, it didnt add much stuff into it.

Ok - thanks for the info... :-)

Although as I've also dropped a few units that are in BA I'm also doing the same as AA - except as the things I took out weren't the shit but just didn't fit into the new concept... :wink:

Epic Annihilation was an experimental mod. The Beta of this mod is years down the road.

Either G, H, or D - F is done, and I don't know if Gundam Annihliation counts as a *A game. Still, all the E's died before being real mods - but so did the D's (Delta and Drolito). So D, G, or H. D if we're counting by "real" mods, G if we remove Gundam as "Not TA", or H if we're going for just counting anything as a letter-mod.

...yeah...Just make crazy models crazy sounds and make the unit stats so that the gameplay is extremly random...with stuff flying around units shooting to crazy directions and shit..could be fun...
Could even be long term fun.

Especially creating an even more annoying sound for K-Bots than the original is an effort beyond compare... :mrgreen:

I think I really might go ahead and create a "Silly Annihilation" as Argh called it after releasing EXTA (or whatever name it's going to have now). I might also have some ideas for it already... :wink:
