also dont forget that Spring does smoothing, so unless the model is giantic (and thus probably a one-off unit) you really only need 6 or 8 sided cylinders and they will look great. same applies to spheres.

Surly the smoth function should send the moddel to smoth, and then it will come back made of win? Someone should add that feature to wings.

ianmac, I admit, you have more skill then most Spring players, by saying that, you know how to use wings.

But, you don't exactly have "skill" to speak of, high polygon units are a pain to work on and with, especially if it doesn't have to be. All of the models in BloX in the current version, including the ones I'm adding now, stay under 300 triangles, and around 100 polygons. I made it how I want and with the next update, I'll probably even go into texturing the beasts.
If you want to, send me pictures of your work from time to time[via the forum message system], I'm looking for a backup modeller for some pet projects, and if you can make it, I'll gladly texture it, or Overkill can. You seem to grasp the basic symmetry ideas and features in Wings, in a month or 2 maybe you can help out a modding team, or even make your own, just how you want it.

That shop needs work, man. You have the number of pixels between the entries off, and you had to scribble all over it!

pro tip: you are allowed to make units consist of more than one object (in fact its recommended)
