I dont think the soundtrack was 'amazing'. But it definately fit as the theme of the 300. The Phantom of the Opera is a theater technicians musical, all that knowing all the ins and outs of the building and knocking off annoying talent. Of course the movie was horrible (except for the sets, costumes, and to some extent the lighting) but oh well, things typically are better in the original.
