IMHO only Hot Gates were worth listening. The rest was fine during the movie, but standalone is meh.
That's kind of the point isn't it?

I dont think the soundtrack was 'amazing'. But it definately fit as the theme of the 300. I like the music in the background while the story of Leonidos was being told to the part of the messengers.

Forgot to mention in my previous post, the soundtrack of AIR is pretty good, too.
And all of the Joe Hisaishi's music.

The Phantom of the Opera rocks.

"Sing for me...
"Sing my angel!
"SING FOR ME!!!"

Phantom is the gateway musical. You never watch it after seeing something better, but it has a certain flare to it.

The Phantom of the Opera is a theater technicians musical, all that knowing all the ins and outs of the building and knocking off annoying talent. Of course the movie was horrible (except for the sets, costumes, and to some extent the lighting) but oh well, things typically are better in the original.

Star Wars - kind of ripped off from Shostakovich, Holst and Stravinsky, but still exciting.
Do theme tunes from TV shows count? If so, then probably the intro/theme of Yes, Minister.
Can't think of any more (minor mental block).
