What on earth do you want them for?? I was goona put one in the middle but it just made it messed up. And with all the metal you should be able to tech quite fast. Maybe I will, what do people say? And were to put them?

You made what was, for a long time, the most interesting-looking map for Spring. And then you sat on it. Can you blame us for ribbing you about it?

And I agree - geotherms need to be carefully balanced. The only map where I really enjoy what Geotherms bring to it's gameplay is Hell's Pass. Most other ones they're either winner-takes-all-middle unbalancing, or "whaa, my teammate got the goetherm and I didn't". There's rarely any harm in simply leaving them out, except that their absense slows down the early-mid game a bit (they do provide a nice kick to help the game really take off).

I've enjoyed them as tactical locations to conquer in the mid game... not in your BASE back in the back, and not "in the middle"....

and NEVER EVER in groups...

thats just asking for trouble... :P

edit:
an interesting trick would be to make SMALL islands here and there, maybe 3-5 of them (I prefer odd numbers personally, evens tend to turtle people)... and put them in the water, and a geo vent right on the middle... so there is NO room to put any defenses around them, yet they are minable...

thus, to defend them, you have to push forward a naval fleet and defend and attack with your fleet at the same time...

not to mention air raids might have a fun purpose...

Right smack on the middle of each bridge :P

That would require (unfortunatly) a lot more work than just a recompile... as I'd have to spend a few days re-doing teh texture (and I dont have time for that).

So... either i could place geo's on the flats by the bridge or leave them off?

Thoughts?

I played a match against an ai and one with mello and this map makes an interesting 1v1 map in gundam.

is there any possibility for an enlarged 32X32 version with more metal patches and more crystals?

...Much as though I'm realy torn to make a map that will be played... I just don't have the time to do a 32 x 32 version... :( I kinda have to do starwars spring and the tree map befor anything else. Those are going to be my only priorities from now untill there done. Sorry mate.

Maybe I will do a map just for gundam though at a later date?
