Hi all!
Havent had much time lately to mod but today after some 6,5h of intense modding the first result of me and bobs common effort is ready (sort of  )

Behold, the Hun light battle tank

The Hun light battle tank is equipped with a 60mm cannon, a light laser cannon turret and a uppwards firing Mrp 36 for limited battlefield support. It's one great tank if you ask me and Bobs model sure made it justice!

The only problem right now is that the LLC turret on top of the main turret refuses to fire, but I guess I'll sort it out eventually.

Maybe a little. Judging from those shots, it's close to right. The Hun's a pretty puny tank.

Now the Visigoth... Heh. 8)

centurion-1, I have a question. Are you implimenting the "snub cannon"? A.K.A the fReAkIn powerfull autocannon, that might as well be one shot one kill gun, but had little to no ammo. Because that is the gun the large tank is equiped with.

Also make sure that only anti-gear missiles, anti-tank missiles, and bazooka gernades can follow an object.

Another thing to consider if have not yet. If possible, script the gears to walk for short distances, but for long haul to use wheels. But if the gear engages in combat it will switch back to walking.

Otherwise keep up the good work.

Uh... Maybe in the old video games, not in the original source material. Snub Cannons are "sawed-off" tank guns used by Gears and Striders. I can't think of any tanks that actually carry one. The Hun uses a 60mm "heavy rifle", while the Visigoth uses a heavy field gun.

Thank you all :)

Yes, the Snub Cannon will indeed be featuring on some heavier gears, the Peacemaker Razorback in particular, though that gear is not scheduled for atleast the first version. Also, Mammoths sport a SC and the Assault Mammoth has dual Snubs, so that will be pretty intense

I cant wait to get this baby out, though i am worried about the release date, and how much gameplay there will be. For those used to AA with 380 units the Beta 1 of GC will feel pretty barebones... How do you feel about this, earlier release but less stuff or more stuff but later release? My initial plan was to have frequent beta updates to keep people interested but a somewhat robust first release would be good, I think.
Also make sure that only anti-gear missiles, anti-tank missiles, and bazooka gernades can follow an object.
Exactly what do you mean by this? Indeed only the homing weapons in the books will be homing, however AFAIK the bazooka grenades are not homing and infact a bit inaccurate but powerful? Other guided weapons include the Guided mortars, btw.
Another thing to consider if have not yet. If possible, script the gears to walk for short distances, but for long haul to use wheels. But if the gear engages in combat it will switch back to walking.
The SMS system of gears and some striders will, unfortunately, not be in at all in the first version. From my understanding setting speed via scripts is a no can do right now and with the current map sizes i dont think SMS will be that necessary. If the new map format comes along and we get really large maps it will be a whole differant matter tho.

Hmn, i think it is pretty close to right, IIRC its only like 6m long and 2,7m high. Correct me if im wrong tho!

I love what you're doing, and I can't wait to play the mod, but...

I can't stand Imageshack. Every time I look at them, their popups attempt to run 'antivirus' programs against my will.

Neither to me (perhaps check your comp for spyware?), and their tumbnailing is kinda handy. Still, some other ad free option for image hosting would be good but I cant provide that myself.
