double post for the bump:

Scratch that, looks like it was issues with my implementation, i'm making some progress; here is a ghosted building in s3o format. Same function, different 'for' loop. :P

No. That's totally different code alltogether which is more than likely way beyond my comprehension of OpenGL. Sorry. :(

It is however too dark, conpair its textures against the arm one (in xta atm) and u'll notice how much lighter the arm one is. & theres a good reason for it to, ive been playing with the com now for a few days and its dark texturing is bugging me....alot. Dont get me wrong dude the work u have done is to a high quality, but a video conpaired to game play seen a lil different to me now. QUite a few times i find myself hitting cntl+C to find him!

Im not asking for a overhaul or anything, just a gamma boost on the textures so when im arm i know when im f***ed.

There is no end to the bitching, ffs.

When I first made the texture and showed ppl renders, they said FOMG MAKE IT DARK CAUSE ITS CORE FFS!

Just goes to show you can't please anyone, or everyone ^^

Sheekel said he had the model working great, and that all the bugs with the script and model were buffed out, any progress on a Final compile Sheekel?

When we see all ur images they're msotly side on, which is fine.

But when your playing your usually looking straight down and all these defining textures dissapear and your left with just the top.

Gizmo, post a pic of what it looks like ingame that isnt taken using fps camera, one that isnt a shiny glamour shot.

Thats like the worst map to show a pic of, but it is important to show to coz alot of us like moon maps! The cob was fixed ( think Noruas had a lil play with it after sheekel done some work as well)

Ill just grab some more shots..............

Do you understand where im coming from Mr.D ?

The textures on the energy generators on the arm com are very vibrant, as are the chest & sholder textures. Wich as AF stated is what the majority of players will be looking at when gaming.

Also, the symbol on the chest plait......whats up with that? Can someone explain plz :?

The fist pic on this thred http://spring.clan-sy.com/phpbb/viewtop ... sc&start=0 with the Core logo on its chest looks right, but in the intro movie its differant....why is this?

The chest Icon is what was on the Core Commander Cinema model from the OTA intro and outro movies.

I lost all my origional 3dstudio files after hard drive went out on me and I had to reinstall windows, so all there is to work with is the files I posted up earlier in this thread.

If you guys want to mess with the texture to make it more visible, then by all means go ahead.

Those screenshots aren't showing much TBH, they're way to small to tell.

not to small at all, i generally play zoomed out at that height. thats what promted me to ask for a brightness change.....what do u mean by QTF ?

I think we need a lua widget tremedy this and generally make the commander mor visible all the time nm via the model.

Well, then again I do remember having the Shiny topcoat set to be a lower % than the Arm commander.

But he's right, the colors are darker, and don't really stand out very well.

Try just greyscaling the main Texture, and then gamma boost it up a bit, or add color to some specific parts like the Backpack.

Ota commanders had bright yellow backpacks to help make them visible, you guys do what you want with the texture.

Well with what AF said....Noruas made the ground beneath the pyro glow to mimic a light effect (witch worked rather nicely i have to say)

Now im guessing that uses the ground flash texture i made, now that permanently under the com is gunna look crap lol If we could get something similar to that of WC3 (symbols underneath there hero's) well no...not not symbols that stupid...but a certain glowing aura or a flashy lua script like AF said would be nice. I dont think it would take Noruas long to do the same for the com as he did the pyro; we could run through for some testing.

Would makes things certainly interesting for game play :P Ill poke him without mercy till he gets something done....mind u he is very busy with other tasks.

Any sugestions on someone to do the lua ?
