Hi!
My computer is ancient so when the first scout spam begin I get nasty lags. I figured (or rather vbs told me) that the hardware mouse cursor option would at least fix my cursor being lagged up.
This works like a charm until I select a unit.
Normally my cursor would change from an arrow to that green selection thingy icon. But with the hardware cursor option enabled it just disappears.
Ba v7.78, Spring 94 etc.
Any ideas?

Re: Hardware Mouse Cursor Problems
might this be an npot problem? as in, the cursor icon might not be 2^{a}*2^{b} sized? for example, it might be 16px*10px, but would have to be 16px*16px?
i just checked, and the cursors in springs base content are all 39px*39px.

Re: Hardware Mouse Cursor Problems
hoijui, what is the suggested fix? Should they rather just be upped to 64x64 with the canvas anchored in the top left?
Re: Hardware Mouse Cursor Problems
if this was issue, then yes, this could be a fix. though the anchor is in the middle, at least with some that i saw, so can not be in a corner.
but maybe this assumption is already totally off. jk should know about it. even if it is this, jk might just suggest to get a newer gfx card or driver.
Lokstjert, can you attach an infolog.txt log file to your post (as file) please? we could then see all the info about your GFX card and driver that we might need, plus possibly other things that could cause the problem.

Re: Hardware Mouse Cursor Problems
cursors are POTified.
Possible problems:
* the game's used cursor is >64x64 and ati fails with those
* just another ati bug (hw cursor is known to fail in fullscreen on atis)

Re: Hardware Mouse Cursor Problems
I had a similar problem with "blicking" hardware cursor (sometimes not transparent squares behind) . It usually happends if i used some media program before playing spring (VLC player, PhotoShop). After restart it is ok. My drivers are updated.
Happends with default TA cursors, arrow is ok, but "orders-cursors" do this.
