Getting new Widgets to show up in F11 menu?

Post by uncoolcentral »

Hi,

I've tried two different OTA music widgets.

First:
http://spring.jobjol.nl/spring/lua-scri ... sic-widget

It wouldn't show up in the F11 menu. No music :(
I deleted the files.

Then:
http://www.springfiles.com/spring/lua-s ... player-adv

Same thing. Can't find a place to enable.

I also installed a non-music widget. unit_z_selector.lua - but it doesn't show up in the list either.

To be clear, I extract the zip, place the .lua in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Spring\LuaUI\Widgets

And when appropriate, place supporting files in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Spring\LuaUI\music

But I am not given the option to enable/disable new widgets in the F11 menu.

Any advice?

I'm running W7 64 bit. BA 7.2. Latest version of Spring. 250GTS. 8GB. Quad-core. Etc.

Just found another instance of spring...

C:\Users\dan\Documents\My Games\Spring\engine\0.82.7\LuaUI

Trying to install there.

If I'm not mistaken, the Zero-K lobby installs engine versions in ..\username\Documents\My Games\... , so that it can install updates to the engine without having to request Admin rights.
Your regular Spring Engine installer (eg from this site), however will probably install to Program Files - thus if you installed using that first, and then Zero-K later, you'll have both.
