SPADS troubles

Post by A_Penguin »

I've been having trouble getting SPADS to host on my computer. After solving numerous issues (all of them were user error; I'm new to this), I attempted to host a game. And it crashed:

20091022180558 - ERROR - [SPADS] Spring crashed (premature end, return status:256, running time: 6 seconds)

Upon investigation, I found this in "spring-dedicated.log":

'C:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

I assume this means that I can't have Spring installed in "Program Files"... Does this mean I have to reinstall Spring into an other directory, or is there an other way to correct the problem? Or is the problem something other than what I perceive it to be?

My bad, should work now (say !update to your autohost to check for update, or simply restart it).

Thanks! progress has been made... I'm getting a runtime error from spring-dedicated.exe that doesn't appear in spring-dedicated.log.

20091023015652 - ERROR - [SPADS] Spring crashed (premature end, return status:768, running time: 49 seconds)

A message pops up (excerpt):
spring-dedicated.exe
This application has asked the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

I also get this error if I host a game using Springie.. so it's definitely trouble with spring-dedicated. What now?

You need to provide details... Does it happen as soon as you connect ? or when you finish loading ? or when game actually starts ? or ... ?

Can you pastebin your game.log file ?
Can you pastebin your spads.conf file (remember to hide your lobbyPassword value) ?
Where is Spring installed ?
Where is SPADS installed ?

It happens as soon as the game attempts to launch. If I'm in the battle, Spring never connects to the host.

spads.conf: http://pastebin.com/m7c0e71d1

I don't have a game.log. Do you mean unitsync.log? http://pastebin.com/m4865d0e8

Spring dir: C:\Spring
SPADS dir: C:\Spring\SPADS

(I migrated it out of the Program Files directory today)

Hi,

Have you found the solution to this problem, I am having the same error on SPADS, when I launch the game.
Thanks a lot.
