does internet is really needed to play in multiplayer?

No it doesnÔÇÖt, you can run a lobby server yourself: see at the bottom of the download page.

thx im trying to use it
the readme says:
"If you are running it from Windows, simply double-click the .exe file."
but there is no exe file inside the jar

it is a very outdated version of TASServer, but should still do.
double clicking the jar should work, i guess, under windows, if you have a recent JRE/JDK installed. if not, run java -jar TASServer.jar. if neither works, come back again please.

to connect, players must set the ip of the pc that runs the server in their client.
depending on what client you use that is easy or not so easy to find :regret:

btw, if your LAN has internet access, it you do not need a local lobby server. if you host the game, and your buddies form the LAN are joining, the game will run locally, in your LAN. to prevent other players from entering your game, set a simple password.

the server works launching the jar
i noticed is a little outdated but its what i needed thxs

but the only way to close it is in the task manager killling java cuz it have no gui or cmd

hmm.. it should open a command window. in this window, pressing Ctrl+C should shut it down. that is default for all applications, even cross-platform.
