'Report a bug'
has anyone else noticed that the new report a bug buttom is in the position the forum button used to be in? my springforum login micro keeps taking me to mantis bug reporting

Re: 'Report a bug'
My thought process on reading post: "bla blah blah blah.... stupid post, should probably ignore... glance up at top to verify mentioned change... OMG THE WIKI BUTTON IS BACK!!!"
Re: 'Report a bug'
Yea holy shit I almost clicked it twice now.1v0ry_k1ng wrote:has anyone else noticed that the new report a bug buttom is in the position the forum button used to be in? my springforum login micro keeps taking me to mantis bug reporting
Also why the hell is the download button at the far right side and not near left?
Re: 'Report a bug'
Damn wiki demand was caved in.
Now we have a completely pointless wiki page, set into two sections:
Development:
Out of date, has the same stuff as the development page, the same role, only it sucks in comparison
General:
Same again only this time its obsoleted by half the menu entries at the top.
All it does is fillibuster and clutter up the top menu while providing absolutely nothing of value. The onyl reaosn there was a demand for ti was nostalgia and resistance to change anyway.

That wiki page has been there for ages, there was just no easy way to get to it before.
Also, its a wiki page.

Re: 'Report a bug'
I prefer the new buttons and layout. Makes sense to point the download button out and I'm just glad to have the Wiki link and Mantis links in the nav bar.
Re: 'Report a bug'
Download needs different color to stand out more. Suggestion: light yellow.

It has a special arrow. That's enough to stand out.Argh wrote:Download needs different color to stand out more. Suggestion: light yellow.

To qualify for a download, you must first report a bug

But how will you find bugs to report if you can't download it?zerver wrote:To qualify for a download, you must first report a bug
...wait a second...

Re: 'Report a bug'
No, it's not. Really, it should be larger, too, that's Marketing 101. I see people unable to find links on websites all the time; it's largely because they weren't designed to stand out well. Finding the download button should be a snap.It has a special arrow. That's enough to stand out.
Technically, it should also be on the left, because practically everybody reading the page, other than a few Asians, will be reading it from left to right, and we want their eyes to get to Download before they start feeling intimidated by all the verbiage.

Re: 'Report a bug'
a link to springfiles.com, clearly labeled as the primary source for maps and mods, should be placed somewhere prominently too imo
Re: 'Report a bug'
Argh light yellow would be attrocious, if not garish, it would clash horribly with the colour scheme in a bad way
We already have far more appropriate colours that highlight. If anything a red or a green, or even inverted colours would work far better

I'm pretty sure the standard "click here to skip all the boring stuff and just get to the downloading" button color is green.
