Recovering account
I haven't logged in to TASClient with my regular account (caydr) in like 4 years, I tried all my usual passwords, no luck, I think maybe it expired or there was a server change and someone else registered it?
Anyway can I get the password reset?

Re: Recovering account
This is why we need email verification. People can retrieve their forgotten passwords...
Re: Recovering account
+1 to Jaz
No need task lobby mods / admins with these user management chores.

Re: Recovering account
Oops I haven't used the email in 3 years what was its pass.
And forcing verification causes issues getting people to go through that.

Re: Recovering account
I think email verification would be a great idea, because faggots then come on just to troll, who then get banned or muted, can just instantly sign in with a diffrent name- it becomes time and effort. anything discouraging smurfs can only be a good thing, right?
Re: Recovering account
MTR
Because email will totally stop smurfs/trolls from spamming accounts using email addresses that take a min or two to create, not to mention the countless instant temporary fake addresses all around the internet.
Optional email address would be great for account recovery though.

Re: Recovering account
Because taking 2-5 minutes making a new email account is more work and time consuming than typing /rename and pressing enter for isntant gratification
Re: Recovering account
Eh. Add a mandatory 24-hour wait between new user id creation per IP, and voila, no more of that problem.Because taking 2-5 minutes making a new email account is more work and time consuming than typing /rename and pressing enter for isntant gratification
Re: Recovering account
That feature exists, but is disabled for anyone that wants to show friends or other legit uses of multiple registrations. And admins are notified about registrations.
Re: Recovering account
Yeah, I can see how that's a need, but is that a common enough occurrence to justify not using that feature?
I can't judge from here, but I'd be really surprised if more than 1 legit dual-account was registered like that per month. Most multiple account IDs per IP are smurfing, period.
Perhaps a "group registration" could be allowed, for stuff like LAN parties, etc., which, again, can't be really common events.

Re: Recovering account
I went all the way down this rabbit hole when the lobby was being attacked; there are commands to disable registrations or logins completely
