dependency Problems on debian lenny

Post by kaiserbert »

Hi All,

i still tried to install spring by sources, but there are broken libraries, so i tried to get spring through the ubuntu repositories. But this way is also miserable, because of the unfulfilled dependecies of the package <spring-installer>(for ubuntu inteprid).
It needs libgtk2.0.0 >= 2.14.1 and <libpango1.0-0 >=1.21.6 which are only available in version 2.12.12-1 and 1.20.5-5. I added the repository of ubuntu inteprid. I still tried all other ubuntu versions without luck.

My system is Debian lenny 32bit.

Any idea ?

a) don't install spring-installer, it's not strictly necessary
b) get the source tarball, apply the debianization patch, edit the deps, build the deb yourself

a) spring-installer is needed by spring in debian, so it is a must
b) it only make sence to build deb packages if there are no broken libraries

don't try to install the meta pacakge then, spring-engine _definetely_ does not depend on spring-installer

meaning what? debian libs being "broken"?

You are right. But this is a little bit tricky. I will try this.

libunitsync.so is broken, see http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=19511

remove any *unitsync.so you got on disk, install the spring-engine and springlobby package and you'll be fine

the library is most certainly not "broken" if you're going by jazcash's comment in the other thread

i installed:
spring-engine
spring-maps-1v1
spring-maps-default
spring-maps-deltasiege
spring-maps-hunterw
spring-maps-kernelpanic
spring-maps-teamplay
springlobby

The springlobby works, but he cant find any mods, so i need mods.

The ca-installer doesnt work, because of the not fulfilled dependecies in my first post.

Any idea
