TASclient update installs Spring lobby
The latest update for TASclient just replaces the tasclient.exe with springlobby.exe
edit: specifically, it's still called TASclient.exe, but the icon is spring lobby, and if you run it, it's spring lobby.

Re: TASclient update installs Spring lobby
This also crashes 2 seconds in for me so I can no longer play now.
Re: TASclient update installs Spring lobby
Crashes how?
Re: TASclient update installs Spring lobby
Yeah, has hung for me twice and crashed out totally once.
Re: TASclient update installs Spring lobby
Ya crashes me I can't even get into SP anymore
Re: TASclient update installs Spring lobby
Hey should I just uninstall Spring then reDL it and maybe that will fix it?
Re: TASclient update installs Spring lobby
No, but if it's crashing you can rename your tasclient old exe back to tasclient.exe.

Re: TASclient update installs Spring lobby
WTF - same here!
After logging in it becomes slooower and slooower real fast and pretty much a couple of seconds after being logged in that's it - nothing happens anymore...
No wait! After like 2 minutes it now seems to work - at least the chat showed up again...

Re: TASclient update installs Spring lobby
Why? Whats wrong? Springlobby is in no way comparable to the features TasClient offeres. Is this some kind of early april fool? >.<
Err, btw. Springlobby just hangs, uses 100% CPU and doesn't react, the redraw effect also doesn't work for the springlobby window....

Re: TASclient update installs Spring lobby
problem is that it tries to cache maps in background but if fails to show main window at same time so it "freezes ". It would cache in some mins and work but its just very unfriendly so far.
Re: TASclient update installs Spring lobby
...wtf...is tasclient discontinued or why does the autoupdate change it?
thx btw so i'll just wait and see if it finishes some day..

Tasclient upgrade > springlobby
I just updated my tasclient, and was very amused, becaus, I suddenly had springlobby! I don't know why satrik did this, I think becaus he doesn't have enough time to develop tasclient or something, but I think it's childish not noticing people. Now, the #springlobby channel has 150 people in it (instead of the normal 30).
I think this is a positive improvement, having all people on the same lobby is a good thing, alot of people are complaining about springlobby atm, but once they get used to it they'll be fine.
Now the bad part... there's a lot of "connection lost" in the channel, becaus of the lobby crashing (maybe satrik did that?!), I hope the springlobby team fixes it, and, I hope they'll also implent the news in springlobby, springlobby is great, but a little annoying sometimes.
Also, I'm waiting for basic to complain about the new waves of smurfs becaus alot of people forgot their password.

http://pw3n.net/mirrors/TASClient.exe
This should be TASClient from just before the ad banner patch, I hope just dropping it in works for people (I have it as I never updated).

Re: TASclient update installs Spring lobby
I was just coming in here to complain about the crashing and failure to respond. Is there some reason they didn't multithread the map caching to a background process?
Other comments: Slapping all these functions in one process really makes the client "hitch" constantly. The "Right click for options" tool that shows up whenever you have your mouse over the chat pane is terribly annoying too. And am I crazy or is there not a way to setup your perform actions or auto-joins from the options pane?

Re: TASclient update installs Spring lobby
You know, every time spring updates I have to wait half an hour for tasclient to chew on my maps...
Re: TASclient update installs Spring lobby
true, but in tasclient at least u got warrining message abut big cacheing, here is no warning just virtual hang up.
Re: TASclient update installs Spring lobby
Is there anyone left capable of maintaining TASClient?
