Community for Gamers of Any Console

Post by Sangue »

Well, anyway..for people that do manage to care, long story shortened a litle...it's a community site for gamers, and we want to be able to attract mappers/modders/etc.

The plan in the long run is to get a running list of games (which I proposed some Spring mods as a possibility) to let people show off on their respective pages as games they love to play. To do this for some of the mods here, we'll need "box art" showing off the individual games.

Another goal is for groups on the site to gather like-minded people, such as mappers and mod creators.

And yes, right now, the site is made for use with Firefox, but it is being worked on for cross-browser use.

So, give it a look, maybe even sign up following this link. The referrals/recruits list helps us keep tack of who joined us for this purpose and whatnot.

I'm onboard with napalmriot as well, and I'm working with Sangue on this initiative.

Oh, and tombom...I don't really pick up on "joking" of your magnitude over the internet. So, tone it down a bit if you want to joke with me, and all will be smooth and pleasant. ;)

Also, haha ralphie. Shush. D:<

Firefox only sites are fail. Even as a temporary solution.

Interesting site.

I think in the future, however, a thicker skin is needed before venturing onto an internet chat board.

Now, I was going to do the box art myself, but after discussion with Swift, AF and Dawn I've elected to delegate some advertising responsibility to the actual game teams unless they bring me on board for that purpose because simply, you should be marketing your game if you want it played, and not everybody will like my approach, nor can I afford the time to market everything - or much at all, frankly.

Though I have prettier screenshots. I uploaded a few to http://spring.clan-sy.com/wiki/Kernel_Panic

Sooo... Site is pretty nice, I would definitely like to see spring up there just for the sake of exposure... I'm not entirely certain that it's worth bothering with a community site that's so broad however... I mean if I wanted to hook up with other gamers it would be easier to do it on Facebook or MySpace... and for the most part I don't like FPS players, sports game players, XBox 360 and PS3 fanboys... so I'm really into board games and card games and other nerdy stuff that's not represented on the page...

Also, the extensibility of Facebook is kinda awesome... if you want to add a favorite game to your homepage you can... anyways... I'll keep an eye on it I suppose.

The site is still being worked on and things are being added, suggestions are being accepted..there are quite a few table-top gamers on Napalm Riot already, it's only a matter of time before they add a list of table-top games. Knowing that one of the founders of Napalm Riot has previous experience working for deviantART, Inc and has the knowledge and skills to promote Napalm Riot into being something big..I just think it would give Spring a bigger audience, one that no one would actually have to pay anything monetary for. Free marketing is good. :>
