Guys, the link for downloading spring is broken.

Anyone coming to the spring site will be unable to download the program.

So uh. Yeah. Probably been this way for ages, since the new UF.

Fix?

I tried both links a week or two ago and they worked...

Edit: It works for me right now.

The one on the front page is broken, but not the ones on the download page.

Definitely not, just visit this or this to look at the huge changelog since past release.

Yeah, I guess spring could use a little bit of "release early, release often", but first and foremost it needs testers so releases can actually happen.

I think it wouldn't be a problem if the community news were up to date, noone would think the site's dead then.

Maybe we should have like a commit ticker on the front page or something... I never even thought that people might come across our little project and think it was dead...

How about have it display topics from the news forum?

Perhaps if we had a "community news" forum where "trusted" posts would be posted to the front page "Latest community news" section... it seems like a very limited number of users are able to successfully update to that page and quite often forget how to... also... maybe if those users who ARE releasing new content (maps and mod versions) could update the community news section more regularly that could work.

On a slightly different topic I noticed that Tobi is pushing for additional testing recently and I was thinking... when we are ready for "full scale" testing you could make a post in the "News" with a "pre-release" version and instructions on how to install it and get on the testing server and also add it to the welcome message on the main server... I guess this is probably obvious, but there are people who probably only look at those two places when they are looking for update information.

Well I spammed #main with that info and it was quite effective (got enough for a 5v5 BA test).

A post that says "release is imminent and will be even more imminent if you come help test on Tuesday 7PM GMT (20:00 CET, whateverAM eastern/pacific/whatever)" would probably be as effective, if not more.
