This is going too far. Operating serves no purpose here, you cannot determine how fast a PC will run based on its operating system. This is pure discrimination, and there is no justifiable reason for anyone to know your OS, not even lag, no OS capable of running spring produces enough lag irrespective fo hardware to justify it.
Ontop of this Spring mark has now moved out into the security realm. OS data is too much information. We already have our IPs shown to the world via the lobby when we join a battle, combining that with OS data makes it even worse.
This is one step too far.
here's a thought, don't use spring mark.
when a host requires it respond with this
..|., YOU SPRINGMARK
boycott this thing and say it is shit.we never said springmark was perfect ... we said ... help JJ to improve it and don't say springmark is shit
this is plainly retarded, do you want to know what computer brand i run? do you want to know how much ram i have?-added Operating system info
Right. As long as betalord doesn't put this into official lobby and make it become the de-facto way of deciding whether players can join games or not, there really isn't any point to bitching the issue any longer.Ishach wrote:i think its pretty ridiculous how angry you people are over a program that needn't effect you at all.
If you don't like it shut up.
Well, I have an issue with it from the standpoint of the Community Promo Initiative. How many people is a violent autokick utility based on intrusive data capture by a third party going to chase away?Ishach wrote:i think its pretty ridiculous how angry you people are over a program that needn't effect you at all.
