dual screen, radeon 9800xt

Post by Suit »

hello

i just upgraded to a second monitor - now i got problems with the dual screen setup unter spring

if i use window-mode i can expand the window to both screens - but that sucks

if i use full-screen mode i can only get one display working with verticaly separeted screen - both displays is not possible

i get "Could not set video mode: no video mode large enough for 3360 x 1050"

any tips?

btw: i'll upgrade my pc soon, i know that the graphicscard is not enough at this resolution ;)

what are those "drivers"?
of course, i just updated to the latest catalyst drivers + control center but there are no useful settings

i've uploaded a screen what it looks like in window-mode
http://www.rebell.at/temp/spring_dual_screen.jpg

thanks to "ultra mon" i can maximize the window over the whole desktop - but the taskbar and window-heading sucks - i love scrolling at the edge of the screen, but in window-mode the cursor just wents of the maximized window :(

anyone here with a fullscreen dual-display-setup?

Well in nvidia drivers you had to set it to "horizontal span" instead of "dualview", as in horizontal span the drivers hide the fact that it is two monitors rather than 1. However this made day to day things very annoying; e.g. normal windows like firefox expanded to both windows, prompts appeared across both screens... I assume ATI has something similar.

Luckily I moved to linux which is far superior in this respect and it works just how I want it to.
