For all the stupids guys who think they are better :
1) Speed metal is a map and if a player like to play on i don't understand why u say : "he sucks" ... this is the most played map ... so respect it !!!
2) Maybe u think your mod is better than others ... i have try plenty mods and I PREFERE BA ... XTA is the second for me ... all the players play them maybe it's because they are good mod ?
3) Stop thinking you're the best, your maps are the best, your mod is the best, your gameplay is the best ... the best is to have fun with Spring and all the players on each map with each mods have fun !!!
So let them play what they want !!!

We hate Speed Metal because it completely wrecks the balancing of ANY mod. It's too large to allow for harrassment or even LRPCs, it has too much metal to make a sane economy work and it is the chokepointiest map ever made which makes it way too easy to know where the enemy is going to come from and makes the only viable unit choice big superunits that can fit enough firepower on the small bridge to deal with the defenses placed on the much larger area behind it. Speedmetal completely destroys any semblance of economy or tech levels. It has no tactical options beyond "Do I nuke him or do I superunit rush him?" and most mods are balanced for tactics that don't work on speedmetal. That's why we hate Speed Metal, because it completely rapes the gameplay of our mods.

Let them play whatever they want, imagine if you were whining everyone who plays crappy game on the world, just because you dont like it... i think you would be very busy with that :D there must be more than million dudes who plays shitty games...

tombom, 5 of the XTA autohosters have dummy speedmetal files so nobody ever syncs with the host and the host crashes out immediatly. I am also aware of several other instance sof autohosters where the hoster has taken measures to ban speedmetal.
However may I say that I am surprised that IMSabbel came out of hiding and posted an unprovoked atatck yet for the first time in almost 2 years this attack was not aimed specifically at me. Indeed the daffodils do look lovely!

Trademark, I understand that english may be your second language, but using profanity and saying someone is whining is not a good way to talk to them. By your sentence structure I can tell you have an understanding on the english language. Are you being rude or is it that you do not understand it well enough to structure a sentence in a more polite manor?
Also to the naysayers, yeah, the thread worked because people are talking about speedmetal and what some other options are. It is still here and growing, so the thread was a success.

moreover, remember that 90% of the players have begin by play 1 or 2 monthes on speedmetal ... so its the best map because it gives players envy to play Spring !!!

ugh, I was just using it as an example of how SpeedMetal isn't that popular anymore. If you ever visit the lobby, SpeedMetal pales in comparison to the amount of games on Altored Divide, as an example. Speedmetal is a phase in playing spring, like sending stupid forwards is a phase in having email. Everyone has played a few games on it. I played it when it first came out. It makes the game simpler. Easier to comprehend. It wrecks balance, but that is WHY the noobs play it. They want a simpler game. Once they understand why speedmetal is different (which is inevitable once they get curious about other maps), they start to understand why speedmetal sucks.
If you don't have to think about economy at all, and you don't have to worry about more than krogoths, nukes, or planes, then it's easier to figure out basic things like how to assist build and queue orders. These players will grow up, move on, and become normal players. Abusing them verbally (or textually) is as stupid as flaming a noob because they can't host properly. It hurts the community because it robs us of new players.

That would actually be 3 of em, the [WG] ones, but we removed that cause the whining got annoying.
