Yes I mean windows swapping - page file. If you have it on, windows saves unused memory pages to harddrive. So if you have say Word idle it simply saves most of it's memory to harddisk and frees it for other use. And later if you want to switch back to word, windows loads memory pages back to memory as they are demanded by it.
I'm running large number of applications at once and I dont like any delay when switching between them. That's why I have this swapping disabled.
