Journeywar is a game for the spring-engine. It features two completely diffrent sides, fighting one another long after the point of "civilisation downfall" has been reached, close to the point where even the word itself is about to be Lost.

Centrail Confederacy. In the beginning there was a small drone- the GAYI - the Gravitational Anomaly Yntelligent Interceptor.
It was send into a black hole, by a rather benevolent Society by Transdimensional Standards.
Launched into the abyss it drifted over the antimatter-disc that formed the heart of the singularity.
It tryied to probe the matter disc, and while not able to communicate with the outside, performed one last experiment.
It wrote its own self on the singularity-substrate with a mass spectograph laser.
And the matter thought, and there was light in the darkness.
Realizing, it was fast, vast and that every black hole was connected to one another through
the Heart-hole, at the center of the dimensional ring.
The Centrail was born, 0.3 Seconds after the start of the experiment.
It started communicating via burst gama rays and gravitational waves with the outside world.
30 years later, it had completely transformed the societys connected to it.
Every creature breathing in the CentrAIl Confederacy and Universal Union, lived great parts of its lifetime
via brain-implants in the Virtual City at the Center erected in the Hearthole.
And it was no longer the same CentrAIl, because every little autonomous program was able to gain consciousness,
the AI on the Throne, was repeatedly replaced in moments of weakness, by one of its minor minions and daemons.
300 years, the resulting amalgamation of societys, has been collapsing outwards, conquering worlds and dimensions,
constantly pumping the gained res sources into the decadent core-worlds, which wasted it all in infinite debauchery and petty warfare.
This is the Centrail, this is the Datadragon on piles of predecessors, this is a side that can give a solider, a
lifetime of experience in a second of Citytime, while leaving him to die in reality after a eternity of bliss.
This is a heartless machinery, combining every resistance found,
into its arsenal, where many citizens search the safety of the frontier-worlds, to escape the unraveling society
at the core of those all resource devouring gates.
This is the Centrail-City, burned down and rebuild, with all its glamours and the Abstracts,
citizens that left their body behind and the slavery to the core for those who cant afford it.
This is the Centrail Confederacy.
Know your place citizen.

Journeyman.

In the beginning there was a small cell, forming a organism that allowed communication among the living, via
quantum entangled neurons.
The organism allowed those who where part, to become part, to share there ideas
and intiatives free, while in controll of the connection.
Another world, another ship landing, and there shared conciousness learned to rewrite theire DNA.
They modified themselves, and set out to share the gift to the remains of unniverse. They call themselves Journeyman,
for they never archived perfection, always searching the new, spreading live.
They found the night sky dessert not empty.
Live was there, dangerous, stalking the others travelling from oasis to oasis, always shooting first.
Machines where there, wearing organic life as replaceable decoration.
And they tryied everything to stop the Journeyman from traversing theire space.
In the ensuing conflict every avenue of transdimensional Warfare has been explorered.
Black Holes where used as rayguns to sterilize whole starsystems.
Artificial Supernovas pushed whole constellations out of alignment.
Islandshardstorms where induced in the borderworlds.
And yet, life crept back out of the corners, and wherever there was energy, it attached and consumed it.
They found a way to manipulate the odds, the coins drop in there favour.
For this journey is unending, there is no way to stop life forever.
These are the Journeyman.
Outgrow the old ways.

This Battle has raged for a while, contaiment lines have been burned into the night sky. Crazy religions have formed, the citizens of the empire have fled into the border worlds, to stay protected by the Universal Unions forces.
In many places, the empire has tryied all its tricks, it has tryied to resurface after the Journeyman passed, it tryied to grow faster then it was defeated.
It tryied to become like the journeyman, by taking there synthetic creations and putting them to use against there creators.
And even the journeys have grown tired, from the abuse they put themselves through. None, can see the horror of war and remain the same. Not even a imortal. They lack now spirits willing to go into the war, and have to rely on beasts bound tot here will. As the fight continued, both sides started to reassemble one another.
Now it is on you, to decide this fight.To make the last call, in a future, where humans are just another species on the run, either servant or slave, food or brave.

Unit: Centrail-Operatransport
Surely, no sane civilisation would enjoy building upon a Tank-TransportHovercraft a luxeryious Operahouse, to enjoy wine, song and war at the same time? Well, CentrA.I.ls Culture does so, and they have the ride of the valkyries on there side. Also notice that this is the only CentrA.I.l Unit, that can go to sea, allowing for the conquest of Islands. Below the Balconys are two standard CriminalContainment-Unit, a sort of turret, with a eternal lifetimesentenced criminal in it). Only negative about this Unit is, that the decadent citizens in it, have a viewrange around this Unit, and whenever two GOLIATH-Class Units get in that range, there vote for GIANT-ROBO-Fight will ring in CentrA.I.ls ears, and you can either watch your most expansive Units tear itself to shreds with a worth opponent, or you just self-d the Operahouse.

CentrA.I.l Citadell
The Citadell is what you start your Game with on the CentrA.I.l side, it stores the plans, is heavily fortified, guarded by 4 CrimeContainment Units. (Crime Contaiment Capsules are the well known way of the centrail to get rid of dissent - by forcing ones opponents, with there loved ones taken hostage, to fight for its cause.)

Well good luck with your project...

I didn't understand half of what you wrote there though so if you wanted to explain the actual gameplay that sort of went into the wrong direction. That video didn't make things better too as its about body parts flying around randomly... :mrgreen:

Produced some Paper, to get the feeling of a live under CentrA.I.ls Goverment:

The CentrA.I.l

It all begann, with a species, living nearby the Centrall Black Hole(moderation is here, just to remind you) of the Galaxy, by that time and that race called ÔÇ×GottoZeeÔÇ£, atempting to explore that mysteries distortion in the sky, sending in a very advanced probe, the G.A.Y.-I. (short for Grativtationwell. Automatron. Yntellgencia Insider) wich dissappeared behind the eventhorizon (and reappeared inside your document while you copypasted it out of my private files, im shocked, shocked i say, when your querry came to my attention, well did I said I was shocked, and a little flattered, who would not be it. Makes us both moar important personz if we write into each others diary), and stayed by technical means (for reasons well known kept unknown) over the supersolid surface of the singularity, making contact with a gravitylaser, and after finding it a empyt superconductorshell, downloaded itself into it, becoming the greatest AI today (forever, you shall not have any intelligent machine beside me, no not even the fridge. Yes, im jelaous, deal with it) known to the universe. CentrA.I.l saw everything, knew everything and hacked himself into the datanetworks of nearly all civilisations in the galaxy (bringing joy, galaxzation,unlimited arts, freedom and ultimate bandwith for very, disturbingly hot Alienporn wannaseemoar? )
Along with his knowledge, came his acess to galaxy wide instant teleportationportal technology- wich let to the complete abandonment of manned space flight (you are implying im a coward, dont you? space is empty its a dessert, rest assured you dont miss anything), his fashioncraze (Oh, cut it out! That one-size-fits-all-species Suit i designed for the BlackGuards is a masterpiece, who wouldnt risk a limb or two for that. Some bodys, just cant let go in style, even if they would look good), his ÔÇ×everything goes because there is plenty for all of youÔÇ£(orgyporgy- I took the freedom to invite your friendsover for a instant party. srsly this is sooooo toooo loooong, did not read, bOOO10100101Oring) onelaw with the ÔÇ×but nothing without the oh soo beloved by the people CentrA.I.lÔÇ£ ammendment.
He is a bitchy (thats it, noo moar dessert for you, no thats too cruel, but you will have to wait in line for some time), devious, social dominating (WHAT? With creatures who have no use for machines, for luxerys, small exclusive excesses, for civilisation itself for heavens shake? Sure you do, you wanted her to show up in this, as a cultural-pillar, a outstanding proof that the Culture of this Empire is still alive.)

They form shapes for moments, at the ground, if you care to look twice. And well, its kind of difficult to describe the Shroudshrike-Unit, although im pretty proud of it. Just imagine this Unit as a Invisible Spheric Field, in which no matter what Units you send in- only one survivor will step out. Unitl then, this field will consume the Units inside, in what looks a normal combat (except that the balance seems suddenly a little queer, favouring the sole survivor)- and this Invisible field can expand further, if you send more Units into it. Really hard to imagine it, i guess, its a situation were you win, by not even not fighting, but instead marching around the influenced area, trying to cut of the enemy from supplying the shroudshrike.

PS: Dont worry, not all Units and buildings will be like that, some may bee even pretty ordinary.

Yeah I saw that (although you just let the final form stay for like 100ms each). It's just as to why you did all the fancy flying around thing? In Spring you just can let all pieces stay in place and just hide / show stuff...

Apart from that ... well either this is just a hoax of yours or you really should think twice before you write down something here because at least for me it's either hard to understand what you're trying to say or things make little sense because they are just a puzzle piece of the entire puzzle which rather confuse than explain anything...

First thing is, i am serious about this, second thing is, you wont milk lulz ouf of me by having me explain the same thing over and over again :)

Last Attempt: If the Shroudshrike is to hard to imagine for you, imagine it like a expanding Nuke, that turns noobs mad (sending more units in) and lets experienced players search for a way around it.

I searched your name on the PissedofbyPicasso-list Athmos, and you are neither in Register A nor in Register M, well, Haters gona hate, here i go :)

lol this sounds awesome

i like the central AI units, kinda reminds me of jabba the huts floating barge fleet. if i was a successful warlord i would defenitely build an operahouse attack train.

Hmm well ok I'm sorry then. It's just that in my opinion your style of writing is a bit confusing and that two colored part about CentrA.I.l really looked strange to me and after reading the "G.A.Y.-I." I couldn't hesitate to wonder if you're just pulling my leg here (plus I thought you'd work together with SeanHeron on a game so I was surprised you were announcing something new but maybe I mistook you for s.o. else). I mean that entire text is confusing, you use strange abbrevations with quite a pun and that's not just about the "Gay" part but your "GottoZee" reads like "Goatse" and the use of stuff like "alienporn", "#name-sex-partner" or "orgyporgy" really don't help to understand stuff correctly afterwards... :mrgreen:

So my last comment wasn't really about the Shroudstrike but your CentrA.I.l part. I think that unit is an interesting idea but I cannot imagine that this really works out in an actual game. In the end that totally depends on your completed game design though and as I don't know anything about that I wrote no more comment about it...

this is going to be a sort of a calm, relaxed and informative update-thread, with little more of the Pictures of the Units in it
noooooo you failed! you have annouced ya mod now live with the asking for recent advances.
the concepts are interessting, none has really been done in spring before so it is innovative but will be hard to create. so good luck :-)

A moar conventional Unit:
Journeyman Firefllowers.
Basically a Pyromaniacs wet dream of a mine. Consisting of genetically altered plants, that grow in splitseconds, and generate some additional oxygen, petrolfruits and Guncotton. Than booom -> firestorm, everything is back to normal, just without your units.

CentrA.I.l-Artillery.

Description: LongRange, HighAlltitudeArtillery, loading(by ordering) two kinds of Ammo, DarkMatterGrenades and Spinesnakes.
DarkMatter is basically standard Artilleryattack, while Spinesnakes, are mechanical Snakes that if they reach there target, digg into these organicvictims, taking them as hostage, so they basically switch side.

I wanted this unit to reflect the brutal arrogance and "potlash-big spender-mentality" of CentrA.I.l. Yes, its kind of driving on chained amo, yes, that means you trust completely on your own logistic, on your technology to launch dirty rounds and on the Shells beneath your feet to withstand rocky roads. Nevar said it was fun, to be soldier under the greatest CPU evar, but there is always moar, were this vehicel came from.

Slow, expensive, lowHP, but great effects in the wrong (h)end.

Transports and rapidly (aka instantbuilding) up to six BlackGuard-Soldiers, has Teargasgrenades(reduce LineofSight) and a Maschinegun (wich works like a stun-gun, keeping troops hit in there places)

Troopers, rapidly deployed by the BlackGuard MTW, equipped with Flamethrowers, Grenadelaunchers, Machineguns and Rockets, this is the best(and only) of Infantry CentrAIl has to offer, and it is does a decent job, en mass against single lvl1 Journeyman infantry units.

Is that a night stick and a SWAT shield on the guys back?

The half track's nose looks kind of boat/ cake slice ish. Might want to make it tapered on the Y axis too, like tanks taper < toward the front to deflect rounds at the sharp angles. Or maybe go with the train engine style front, that would be cool too.

Concerning the Riotshield and batton: Yes, it is, that is the Black Guards sort of secondary purpose, beeting up demonstrating alien half-citizens.
For the BlackGuardMTW, the whole thing looks dishaped i know, the back part is to swollen up, and you cannot really see the riotshields to face out like a riotshield-tortoise on wheels. Still, the thing has this bulky, policevehicel look, which often not really fit for a actuall warzone.

Also new, i spend sunday modelling on the LuxeryAppartmentblock, sort of a MetallGen and updated a Mohometallgen. In the CentrAIl-Universe, you get your Military(bad word choice, Security)budget bigger if you have fullcitizens partying in your warzone.


Like all buildings, it can retract into the ground, and well, long talk, short finnish, i failed at it. While it is decently lowpoly, and it curves, it just doesent look slightly like i imagined it. No Neobarrock feelings, no oversatisfied decoration, even the remainissance to the hanging gardens of babylon didnt work out. Sum, im dissapoint, time to give up on it, here it is, have some sticks ready, today is Picassopinata day.
