Meh, I didn't care for the 'site. End of story. Sorry for ranting about it, I'm tired and I need to go to bed now...
I dunno. Having an obvious top and bottom still has 1 use: it lets those puny humans who are supposed to fly it be able to tell where their command centre is relative to everything else from an external view. Which on a civi ship, is a good thing. On a war ship, I'd make it a ball and put LOTS of guns and cameras on the outside.yuritch wrote:The site has a good amount of information regarding what is and isn't likely to be found on a spaceship. IMO a good reference for those who want to design some space-related models and wants them to be somewhat realistic. For example the 'Space is not an ocean' rule makes any kind of ship with obvious 'top' and 'bottom' sides unrealistic (that includes most of the Star Wars ships), plus some other rule says space fighters aren't realistic as well (at least not in 'deep space', planetary assault is another story), etc.
