Re: Spring on Intel or ATI 'open-source' drivers

Here's the Final Guide with the hoops I had to jump through to get it to work on my Intel HD Graphics (on a Toshiba Satellite R630-155). Not sure how much is necessary, but this made it better for me. It will still have glitches under some conditions, so don't expect any miracles, especially on big ...

The architecture visualization Blender file is among the game demos, I think.
Look on the right column:

Re: Video Request

I can make the video (and record the voice), but I can't record the game itself - too weak cpu  I need shots of: Free mods (totalling 15 seconds) 3D weapon trajectories (would be nice a Catapult, a dogfight, or something to show-off - 5 secs) Strategic zooming, rotating camera, ground deformat...

Re: Video Request

We could collaboratively create a script on Google Docs.
Can I be the narrator?
I know my way around Audacity.
Also, I could render a few 3d logo cutscenes/intro.
I suggest using Jamendo for a legal music background.
I can do this myself, except I need a script and actual video footage.

Re: [bug] Decay while reclaiming

You get back the entire metal.
As if you reclaimed the entire unit.
Made experiment with armca building 50% of a radar tower. (Dont forget to selfd com to get less m income).

Re: [bug] Decay while reclaiming

If they hadn't decayed, you would have to spend more time reclaiming instead of receiving more metal without extra effort.

Re: Game Crashes On Start

I compiled from source. The problem seems to have gone away.
It is probably a problem with the Ubuntu package. Maybe it was built against older dependencies?
OP, what's your OS?

I also get this. I have a computer that CAN run spring. It crashes on start, but only sometimes. My infolog.txt is the same as the one from the previous game (not been touched). I use Ubuntu 9.10. Made a stacktrace in GDB (not sure if it's done well or useful:) #0 0x0858f0f7 in ?? () #1 0x0861437d i...

Re: Using spring for a-life/multiagent simulation?

Cool! If the unit has been seen, also take its firepower/health into account.
Would be awesome to have the units auto-intercept incoming radar blips.
On more features, I guess that would turn out into an entire AI, letting the player just watch.

Re: Using spring for a-life/multiagent simulation?

I would define front as the location nearest to the enemy base. The enemy base is an average of all buildings (if there are any) or of units, or manually overridden. Or maybe the furthest from the ally base. But that's the point of a-life, to figure that out, right? I might be thinking about too com...
