Re: springlobby frezes on startup if no internet connection

i imagine you get an instant error message if you have no network connection. but if you have network connection, but no access to the internet, it could still try for a long time.
i use some commit after 0.200, very recent. (don't know right now which one)

Re: Which MiniGames make for the best Micro

i like the grenade that comes back bigger and meaner to its maker! it might decide to unleash its destructive potential on him, or to end the circle and burst into a sea of flower-seeds, spread over a large area, because it reached enlightenment. the more flowery fields you walk through, the more go...

Re: Which MiniGames make for the best Micro

what if resource you can gather is sexulus stimual? could make the resource gathering interesting. it would still have to end in a splosion, though. ... what about a game where one faction is about sexual pleasure (lots of moaning and what not), and the other about pain (dungeon keeper style)? there...

Re: Would bipedal mechs actually be useful?

we use to think of machine design in a kind of virtual environment where some limitations do not exist, but for battle tech mechs they would. that is kind of the only small flaw i see in your analysis, knorke. i mean, you can not just add more legs to the thing cause they are sometimes useful. more ...

Re: Would bipedal mechs actually be useful?

in the future they just cancel your google account and you die within a week, because you don't know how to/can't get food or water. if it has to go faster, they tell you the light is green while it is actually red when you try to cross the street or feed you poisonous nutrition.

sponsor for mac buildbox?

on this page of a free software CAD software, on the bottom, i saw that they get a build-bot sponsored from a mac cloud company. in case this is still an issue with spring, it might be worth contacting them, to ask if we could get the same deal. http://librecad.org/cms/home.html and yeah.. i see tha...

springlobby frezes on startup if no internet connection

after the freeze, it reports that it could not figure out whether there is a new version of SL available, so i guess the issue is that this check is not done in a n extra thread. should be very straight forward to test, so.. as i am tired and lazy right now, i leave it at that.. ask for more info if...

Re: cookies! now!

is this possibly going to be a problem for low end systems with those cheap GPUs that simulate stuff on the CPU? (or did get get even this wrong?) just thinking about the real-time updating you mention.. that is synced, right? so has to be done by all participants in a game. ... but of course.. cool...

in the year -333, on planet earth, greece: after the invention of the concept of the atom, two philosophers are discussing: one thinks, the goal of the universe is, to create the perfect gray goo. the other thinks, the goal is that there be no information duplicity. this is the first visible spark. ...

Re: Where's the Java AI Interface?

i did pretty much everything, yes. rewrote the AI interface to be C only, setup the AI Interface plugin system and made all the plugins (old C++, new C++, Java, Java OO Wrapper) that are still in use (there was python and mono too (by other people), but they were both never completed and are now non...

Re: [Java] How to know player id

player ID and team ID are not the same. only humans have player IDs. AIs are not players (that is totally wrong, but it is how it works in spring at the moment). each AI is "owned" or "controlled" by a player, so that players ID is closest to its player ID. though, if i remember right, you need just...

Re: Where's the Java AI Interface?

... i remember having written some code that auto-calculates some hash from the interface source files, which could be used as a compatibility check... but i guess it is not being used then. :/ (which would be my fault). nobody is really maintaining the interface, i think, so nobody thinks about suc...

the documentation for the AI interface for this stuff is (starting from) here: https://github.com/spring/spring/blob/develop/rts/ExternalAI/Interface/SSkirmishAICallback.h#L1724 i would say there is quite some info about the maps already. if you want to add more, change it, do it in this file, and m...

Re: Meta Game Engine

gajop and me seem to think, you basically just use spring for that, because it can already do all that you would need (that we thought of). picasso is thinking of a separate thing then spring engine itself. i don't see what is required for this, and also did not see a single thing yet, for what spri...
