No luck. It works fine and all with threaded optimization off like the guide says, but then it locks up. It won't lock up with threaded on, but it runs slow as hell.

Well, that does work for a few minutes. And then my PC locks up and reboots.

Thank you (I bought my 7950 before the 8800, and the 8800 isn't cheaper). As I was saying, it runs mad slow most of the time for no reason. The older build didn't. Still have no idea why. Is it something with the code?

Actually, it only cost $500 at the time I got it, and it over clocks quite well.

Ever since I upgraded to b3, Spring runs infernally slow. I'm talking, REALLY slow. It used to run at over 100 FPS. Now it barely keeps 30. What's up with the new build? I know it's not my PC because on the rare occasion, b3 will actually spike up to it's usual over 100 FPS, but it usually stays way...

You know, while I'm at it, I might as well also mention the odd performance spikes. Spring will be running terribly slow (20-30 FPS) for a few minutes, and then all the sudden, it jumps super high (120-160 FPS) and stays that way. Any clue what's going on? If it can run so fast, why doesn't it start...

It makes me scared that spring actually has the hardcoded ability to force my computer to restart. :( I used to have the same problem. Spring does not make your PC reboot. You have an option somewhere in Windows that forces your PC to reboot instead of displaying the BSOD. You can turn that option ...

But whenever I try to run the game that way, it gives me an "Cannot find .wav file" error, even when I use the linux extra files from berliOS

Ok, my question is this. I ended up having to install it through synaptic (I use Ubuntu) and got everything working ok. Spring runs great and everything. Now, I want to use Unity so I can play online like I used to with Windows, but there's a problem. I can't set it up. There is no unitsync.so file ...

I figured it out. I did have maps and stuff but the game was linking to a random folder somewhere else that was empty. I still can't seem to get Unity working right. I'll try again. What should I be svn'ing?

I did all that, but now I get this: $ python Unity.py /home/echo35/.spring/UnityLobby/Profile.py echo35@RAINE:~/.spring/UnityLobby$ Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/echo35/.spring/UnityLobby/client/main.py", line 232, in ? status_icon.main() File "/home/echo35/.spring/Un...

I decided to go the synaptic route (I use Ubuntu) and got the game that way, since I was unsuccessful previously. Everything works until I try to run Unity. It's asking for the unitsync file, but where is it/how do I get it since I installed through Synaptic?

Little help with Unity.

So I got Spring via subversion, and set up everything all fine. It runs pretty well. Then, I attempted to get Unity running. I followed the guide, but I end up with a strange error whenever I try to run main.py: $ ./main.py unitsync: Unitsync assertion failed: tools/unitsync/unitsync.cpp:635: Call I...

Ok, here's a screenshot http://www.tud.ttu.ee/~t040535/Screenshot-AFLobby.jpg The tabs are just to the right. As for the fonts, I really don't know. That's all I see. No buttons to start the game or anything, and when I go to the main menu, all the "Single Player" and such boxes are graye...

7950 GTX2, from EVGA. Only game this is happening to. I got Starcraft and my other old titles to work by disabling dual core support, but spring still acts up.

I did that, and it worked for a while (about 10-15 minutes) then it blue screened again, this time giving me:

p17filtx.sys
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA

I've also had odd problems with lots of older games (Starcraft, System Shock 2) so I was thinking about just reformatting and seeing what happens.

You're right. The reboot box was checked. After I unchecked it, it just crashes out with a generic error and a link to the infolog file: Map: SmallDivide.smf Mod: "Absolute Annihilation 2.23 (H)" from AASH223.sdz Number of damage types: 41 Spring 0.74b3 Reloaded ctrlpanel with: LuaUI/ctrlp...

Well, I thought it wasn't a hardware because all the other mods worked fine, just the OTA content made it reboot (which it started doing again by the way). However, today, I was playing Star Craft and it did the same thing until I disabled dual core support for it, so now I'm thinking it is a hardwa...
