What the status on the following graphical features, which [used to] be worked on? I've gone through the art forum but they're still unclear, at least officially. (Note: I would answer this myself, but my graphics card cannot run Spring's advanced features) *high-res models *new GUI with buttons *dy...

With a new version released today, I thought it was time to update the request list (see page 1).

Tell me what the progress is on each of the list's items, and I'll update it.

Tell me what you want added to the list, and I'll update it, too!

PS: obligatory plug for cornerless "donut world" maps.

Not bad. I like the king of the crater idea. Overall, your ideas sound like applications of FPS game modes to an RTS. Essentially, you're saying: King of the Hill King of the Crater Frag the Monkey Sounds good! I wonder if we could get something like the TA mutator so that we could temorarily change...

I really love the reflections in the newest screenshots. Does this mean we're closer to dynamic lighting? Dynamic lighting is the other thing I'm pushing hard for: it would allow day/night cycles, fantastic laser and lightning effects, glowing fires, and long moving shadows from every tree and unit ...

BTW, I have all the OTA music in high quality rips. Originally, Blackthorn was going to handle putting it in Spring, but I don't know what became of that. I don't have the programming skill (actually, ANY programming skill), but if one of you wants to try, just let me know.

zwzsg, would you mind telling me about your "teleport" and "mobile factories" technologies? These sound as interesting as the bridges you built for OTA! RE: cornerless maps, I'm a very strong advocate. Moonbase Commander is an example of a GREAT game ($5 at the local bargain bin) that has cornerless...

The ability to space units (ie mines) equally comes from TA Hook, a Yankspankers add-on to OTA. Select the building you want to build, like mines or missletowers or whatever. The default footprint before you put it down is the size of the unit. Now spin the scrollwheel--the footprint gets bigger and...

Guessmyname, friendly fire is already almost impossible. Have you ever tried to shoot a friendly con bot with a maverick? It's hard! I added the "mobile factory" idea. I assume you mean that you want units to be able to upgrade themselves, a la CC:Generals. Can anyone tell me what's the progress on ...

Munch, you can already do "default spacing." Spin the scrollwheel until the spare is bigger than the mine's footprint. Now drag a whole bunch. Release. Your mines will be build spaced equally apart.

I just got back to the US after several months in Europe. Europe was awesome (sorry, didn't get to Sweden, though Athens was cool) but I have no idea what's happened in Spring since April.

Fill me in on the big developments, and I'll add them to/check them off the requiest list accordingly.

Thanks!

That's a fascinating idea. I wonder (and the answer is probably NO) is it possible to make a corcscrew mountain of water, like a spiral waterfall? It would be interesting to sail your navy up there.

Spring needs dynamic lighting most badly of all. That allows all sorts of neat effects: illuminating units with explosions, shadows striking outwards from the epicenter of the explosion, day/night cycles, blue/red glows from the lightning cannons and flamethrowers.

Yes, Spring needs dynamic lighting.

Metal Isles.
Two Continents.
That one 20x20 Cavedog Sherwood-like map that has all the big hills clustered in the middle.
