Total Annihilation: The Progenitor
TA was originally released in 1997 by a small company called Cavedog Entertainment. It pwned the pants off of Starcraft, but due to the superior marketing budget and (deserved) reputation of Blizzard Entertainment, not to mention flashier artwork and better story, the 2D SC beat out the revolutionary 3D TA in sales and recognition.
Still, the legend of TA lives on, due in no small part to its (at the time) ground-breaking 3D engine and considerable modability.
And thus, Spring was born - to renew the life of all that is TA for the next generation.
