i dont think its ca balance, for examples not all factories are avaible from start.
Migh add some tactics if your enemy has expanded to an island and you can not just spam him away while he is building up?
I think thats fine, many games work like this. In C&C,Starcraft etc. water is an even "harder" obstacle than in spring, where most mods have hover/amphi/flying stuff.so you can expand and you can attack over water, but only as of tier 2... the only trouble is that you can't deploy cheap units on the mainland until you've built a tier 2 obelisk, then a pyramid, then a necromancer...

you need to redefine spam. They are slow to build it takes some time to summon a decent amount.Saktoth wrote:Skeletons are very cheap and spammy id say smoth. No. Car contributes and Sak gives feedback, but they don't determine the play design. SW:IW and 1944 don't have CA balance either, despite incorporating these people in these roles.Gota wrote:Is this gonna have CA balance?

It is not CA balance. I use the metal=energy=buildtime formula, but that doesn't make it CA balance. Saktoth and CarRepairer are valuable advisors, but they couldn't CA-ify the Cursed yet

I'm not sure the gunships belong in tier 1 - they're very powerful units: a couple of them can fly in behind a person's defences and cripple their economy in seconds. I won a game against zwzsg using them almost to the exclusion of everything else, and gave maackey high blood pressure by flying my last surviving unit (guess what) around the map picking off undefended structures and units. That was one gunship!
maackey reckons the problem is a lack of land anti-air on tier 1 - his mages didn't work so well against my gunship, and since he couldn't get interceptors he was in a bit of a pickle. Defender's are totally devasting against air but gunships are manoeuvrable enough to avoid them pretty easily.
Perhaps they're a natural counter for artillery but I still think they belong in tier 2, especially since upgrading the Dark Assembler now only gets you one new unit, which is a bit anti-climatic...
