Just stumbled over a 2 hour interview he had with some one from the FAF-community. It is focusing mostly on Supcom related stuff and general points about RTS-game development, but also some details about the creation of Cavedog and TA respectively. For example at 40 minutes in he explains why TA was build with modding support from the get go.
Maybe some of you find it interesting:

There is a post near the top with timestamps for specific topics if you don´t want to listen to all of it. The first ~4 mins are just a montage of a few snipets from the conversation. After that is the whole uncut interview.

Super fascinating.. the golden years, the coin drop between frozzen yak and cave dog
Re: new interview with Chris Taylor
the reason why he/they founded cave dog was also quite interesting. Also I didn´t know that 2008 financial crisis was guilty for the big change supcom2 took from 1.
Re: new interview with Chris Taylor
It doesn't come across in the interview. But basically his approach to quality in a too small a pond genre wise is what prevented them from becoming rich. He had a great team, great vision, but they always just got barely by.
