As pretty as the Starwars logos and banners are, while SWIW is in limbo, these banners should be retired until such a time as WZ is back and developing, or a release is available.

Otherwise thsi works against us not for us, and it's highly misleading and raises expectations in areas unreasonably high.

That we've kept them up here for so long is sending out a message that we're not really arsed and dont care about things, so why should you.

The same goes for P.U.R.E, any remaining P.U.R.E header banners should be taken down ( this has actually been requested by Argh, multiple times, straight from the horses mouth )

What remains?
Gundam. Evo. NBA. KernelPanic. Conflict Terra. Tanks. ZeroK. Cursed.
Oh, right, none of them has deved banners.

Its a crying shame we cant force those gamedevs into action by adding hastily shooped pictures.

When i was young, people had respect, you see. They would have feared the Crusades of the Order of Copyright! C willz it! But today, the youth just takes the pictures and shoop around on them, completely shameless.
I wish i was young again.. i would show those bassTards- how its done!

A simple rule to follow as a guide is that you don't put unreleased stuff up

Wasn't it more a case of engine changed, so now it doesn't work. Even if now started a month after it was released.

Unreleased? What does that mean? Conflict Terra - died and was born again. Does that count as beeing free? Tanks is there since forever! If you mean bugfree then good luck after every engine update.

Just.. out of curiosity.. what game is this?

Nope, the released install didn't work, which used a specific install of spring..

I have thought about making a fix patch but given the history between argh and I, I am not touching it.

Arghs tech works in v0.82.7.1, I had it running earlier today, a lot of it should work in latest with very little changes from what I understand of it.

I can definitively say Argh would not object.

Site is for engine
Banners show content running on engine
Availability of content is irrelevant

Banners are for products
Products show things you can buy
Wether the products are what they say they are is irrelevant.

Would you be happy to buy painkillers, come home to find they're useless, only to be told it's okay to advertise duff painkillers on billboards because advertising is for selling products, not making products do what they say, and thus the availability of their capacity to kill pain was irrelevant?

We're setting out expectations here, and what we do by keeping starwars up there is missadvertisement. It pisses off users, and we get the small minority who can be arsed to register and post a forum thread asking where they can get said game or map (which reminds me, aGorms tree map, or rather the pre release versions that looked different).

For those who didn't believe me when I said Arghs stuff ran on 0.82.7.1, you can see his shifting tree shaders, buildings, lighting shaders, etc

Imo no point removing old pictures.

This is an engine, pictures are made from the game for the engine -> no point removing them now..

Yea, the engine is the product and the games are showcases of the product.

So, I disagree, although I hate to see IW banners teasing me with a game I cant play.
