Nowadays game devs tend to include (and produce for themselves) the most ideal widgets in their games. Downloading widgets is mostly a pastime for BA players so you can ask in the BA subforum.
Otherwise best widget would be unit_customformations2.lua An up-to-date one, as widgets like everything gets broken by new Spring versions. But all the big mods have it included already anyway.
I find the mex upgrader widget very useful. It gives you a button when you select a T2 builder that causes the builder to go around upgrading T1 mexes to T2 (Moho) mexes while you concentrate on other things.
i dont say as no crappy mod hipster but as long time BA player who realized ZK is much better than BA these days because it actually has active development
when getting widgets i pretty much just go through list and pick the ones which seem interesting, if theyre crap they get disabled, its not too complicated
i prefer redui than iceui though that is just opinion, probably biased since ive been using redui for years because iceui and MT spring didnt go together very well
If you like ZK play ZK, but if you like BA play BA. They are very different so dont listen the ppl who just want to kill BA.
Back to the question, for BA the important widgets imo are: - initial queue - unit_bomber_control - easyFacing - immobile_builder - snd_volume - unit_smart_area_reclaim - autoquit

That's the one I thought had a cumbersome UI. I don't want it to clutter the screen all the time, so I needed to unload/reload it a lot. You can bind it to a key in uikeys.txt, like this:
Apart from immobile builder, the carpet bombing widget is probably the most essential one, because that kind of microing is nearly impossible to do manually.
Its like customFormations but for attacking with bombers. You select a bunch of bombers and you draw a line to attack. The widgets distributes the attack commands for the bombers on that line. So you can carpet-bomb quite precisely. Not sure, but I dont think areaAttack is involved at all.
