I stuck in all the bells and whistles, and here is a sample of what is possible:

Vertex shader animated trees
Custom particle system for pixies
Map level normal mapping and SSMF
Normal mapped features
Pretty skyboxes

Animation video, wait until it goes up in HD.

Map has been released, available at http://springfiles.com/spring/spring-maps/magic-forest.

The tree shaders only work under BA and BAR (and any other mod that uses the same version of jK's unitshader framework.)

haha well i am glad that it's not bf3; that would mean that beherith was an evil corporation, and that this map would cost $15

great work as always

how easy is the tree shader to implement; how about the normalmap features part? could i do it?

what is map level normals? something i might have to zoom in and see, or something visible that i'm just not recognizing

they told me i should test on something fast, something not long loading.
I test on Tabula v4 every day.

If this is good, its going to be the new test-grounds.

High Soon for the link.

Keep it up and mainstream games will be jealous.

Not to mention shaming the rest of us.

Nice work as always.

Lovely. It makes me wish someone had made a fantasy-themed Spring game.

That looks very nice, esp in the video.
I just fear it will not run very fast on my computer :/
eg C&C Generals has animated trees, flowing water and all that working even on older computers but with this I somehow have a bad feeling..

I recommend at the very least a geforce 8600GT to see the difference...
Oh yeah, and thanks for the flowers, Picasso!

Before you release, could you reduce the amount of those magic flowers. It feels a bit overkill atm, performance could also improve?

Beautiful! Magnificent! :D

IMO, you ought to make the fireflies more fade-y. There are a few that don't seem to go out at all (at least from the video you posted), and a more subtle effect would make the map seem more magical. Again, only my opinion.
