Hello everyone, im planning to make a new mod for team battles,
Im a litle tired of BA style and big games 8v8 and >8v8
I wanna implant the style of earth2150 game in spring, wich was for me the best team game i ever played, and best games 3v3, even 1v1 games are awesome
the maps will need some perfection, ba maps will be not comatible with this mod since it will need features in good places and space to make factories, nanos will not help share factories, so u will need make a line of them and research the units, also the 4 5 min lost building the main.
economy is limited to around 1 million, 1.2 million metal for each player, and u dont get this instant so in around 40 min max.
the control of the units will make the difference, player who doesnt control well his units will lose the game, defenses are weak compared to ba.
wrecks cannot be rezed or reclaimed, units can be repaired but not by nanos, yes by rezers and very low repair speed
i also will need some gadget help for it, i will start importing some tech annihilation units into it, to see how the mod its played, then with time i will make new modeled chassis and weapons.
it will be new for spring, and yes it is old but i dont found a mod like it, the most close mod was expand and exterminate, but got the style of TA with mexes, and earth 2150 is not like that
if the units won't differ from an existing mod, just remove mexes and add reclaimable metals to a map
yes, you'd need a gadget for spawning metal amounts based on players, but by going the map route to start you'd be able to at least test your idea (assuming you want amounts of metal to differ according to how many players are present)
I once had the factories where they required Xmetal and Yenergy and the buildcosts and times were normalized to streamline the economy(so that all you needed was XYproduction per factory).
did all kinds of experimentation over the years.
Did and still do have large bases. This requires custom maps. People still try to play gundam on small maps.
I disabled nano assist and repair before the tech system and new economy.
people were not happy about that.
Large bases require large maps, large maps require more resources to run spring, people in spring seem to think they should be able to play all games on their email laptop.
By taking on large maps you are setting yourself up to a smaller player base right out the door. Just a warning from someone who went that route.

Thats why my idea is start with same Tech Annihilation models, since i know people plays that mod, and im not very happy with it, i want some nice team battles with more skills, i dont mean TeA dont need skills, but not very happy with the gamestyle, if i can get 10 12 players being pro playing that new mod style im happy, since i will not like bigger battles than 5v5 and 3v3 looks pretty fine
