there is a max that can be extracted at a single time. For example, put 2 mexes on the same spot, one will always produce 0.
There is a max: yes, but two mex can both extract M, if 1 mex is at its max (t1 mex) and the other not (moho mex). On a "2M spot" t1-mex will extract 2M, T2-mex will extract 6M (T2 max is 8M, so 6 is the diff). General: the last mex gets what's left (if moho is build first, t1mex gets nothing).

It has been a while since I've played but I think it goes like this (this is assuming a metal spot smaller then the extractor radius and no "radiant" metal.
(note that the actual numbers here are examples)
T1 MEX extraxts 1xMetal Output of Spot T2 MEX extracts 2xMetal Output of Spot
so if metal output is 1M, t1 mex will collect 1M, add a T2 mex and both will now be collecting 1M a piece for a total of 2M, reclaim or destroy the T1 Mex and the T2 will now be gaining 2M... why don't you test this theory or yours for us and provide us with the results of your experiment.
The other possibility is that because the extraction radius of your metal extractors aren't identical, the second extractor is picking up some of the "blurred" or "radiant" metal from the metal map.

Two mex can work per spot: 1 T1 + 1 T2 mex.

Yes. The second mex gets the leftovers. So what is your point?
1t2 mex will produce 8, but 1 t2 mex + 1 t1 mex will also only produce 8. So what is your point?
