any news (tzz-bum) on this? I have a feeling realisticly nobody will set that system up. Why can't we just have give rights to some people to use the news forum thing?

whereas the news aggregated by Springinfo is all over the place.
where else beside springrts.com can they be seen? where else beside springrts.com do people want to see them?

spring facebook page is linked to the springinfo feed.

the same facebook that lists http://www.taspring.clan-sy.com as spring website? I am sorry, I did not mean to rob them of their latest info about sucking on rubber hoses.

So how would this work? Does it require changes to this forum/site? Because then I already know that it will never work because I can not remember that anything in this forum/site was ever changed. Those who have access seem to be MIA.
I would be fine if submitting news would work as submitting screenshots/banners. Primitive system, but is already in place and in theory does work, just needs faster approving.
Otherwise feel free to invent something better and if it is simple enough to use for <average stupid forum user> it will see use.

Arugh, pay attention. First post would become a news posting on springinfo, community news feed, facebook, etc which links back to the thread where it originated.
There is already a feed, but it's a feed of the entire spring forums, which is completely unhelpful.

Graphical work takes time, and I don't do springinfo updates, and believe me it used to be a lot worse
If you would give me admin over the facebook page, I could have wordbooker push updates to facebook (with proper thumbnails I might add), instead of you grabbing raw code from an rss feed.

This isn't new. Isn't new as in it is common. When you know that what you're writing is being syndicated here there and everywhere, it's important to remember to do posts in a way that they are still in context regardless of how badly they get mangled.
e.g.
Quote:
teleporters? check. dynamic lava? check. metalspots that are not unlimited? check. second coming of jesus? lolbrb@secondcoming ya'll!
or some shit like that. It may not be perfect, but when you're shuffling posts around 3 or 4 different systems, you have to be willing to understand that they are going to get mangled. Including in rss feeds as well.
That's why the excerpt box has no formatting. Excerpts are what you WANT all these other systems to see and display, and then upon navigating to the post the user sees what you actually wrote in the postbox.
It's not just wordpess. That system applies for just about any half decent cms (but in some cms' you may get stuck with having to code your own excerpts, which is no fun).

except it would look like this:
Quote:
teleporters? check.dynamic lava? check.metalspots that are not unlimited? check.second coming of jesus? lolbrb@secondcoming ya'll!
So basically for the excerpt field it is best to manually enter one sentence? Because some facebook page/ipad browser/sms newsletter or just normally viewing the page in a browser will fuck it up.
Even your own posts are mangled: Changelog Notes From reading the changelog, it probably doesnÔÇÖt look like a whole lot happened.
Sure, it is kind of possible to tell that "Changelog Notes" should actually have been a headline. But hey, it is the 21st century, why can't a webpage have color or line breaks on its front page? gaaaaaaay.
