i do something wrong or pset is not visible while ingame ? >> when i make !status during the game i dont see it how ghay
There are two different "status" managed by SPADS: - the battle lobby status, where you can see lobby-related information - the game status, where you can see game-related information
If a game is currently running, !status will show you the game status, else it will show you the battle lobby status.
If you want to see the battle lobby status when a game is running, you can do "!status battle".
WARNING - [SpadsUpdater] No "springserver.dll" package available for download
Also, where can i get the "etc" and "var" folders and files? the install didnt make those. Am i missing something?
Although, i have the old version files on my computer, but the conf files were outdated (var/preferences.dat file had wrong variable name), and there were some other errors loading spads etc. So i thought to make a clean install, but it doesnt work.

Should be fixed now (you can safely ignore this warning, the installer package was a bit outdated, but it wasn't a big deal because it auto-updates itself the first time it is run anyway...).

The installer should generate these directories when the install process is successful.

This is the error when launching spads:
Try configuring SPADS to use a Spring 0.82.7 installation instead of Spring 0.82.7.1 (unitsync library included in 0.82.7.1 contains non-backward compatible changes...).
I dont have spring 0.82.7 installation, is it somehow possible to just copy the unitsync.dll from old spring and let spads use this file instead of the newest...?
Because if i set the spads use the old spring folder, i would have to move all my maps and mods there as well. And that means i cant play the newest version myself...
any help needed with updating spads to use the xmlrpc-api of springfiles.com? !maplink returns empty results sometimes...
Thank you, however for now I'm not sure it worths it. As TradeMark pointed out, you can configure SPADS to use URLs which use this XMLRPC system anyway. Maybe I will use this interface if I decide to implement the !dlmap/!dlmod commands though.
While instaling on WinXP i get this error. Please, help me.

Available mod options depend on current mod, so they aren't listed by default in SPADS configuration files. You must add them manually if you don't want to use default values provided by the mod.
Mod options, map options and engine options are considered as "battle settings" by SPADS (you can list all battle settings for current mod and map by entering "!list bSettings all").
You can set "maxspeed" to 1 using "!bSet maxspeed 1" command, but it won't be saved if you restart SPADS for example. If you want to make it persistent, you must edit your battlePresets.conf file and add following line: "maxspeed:1".
I have another question. It concerns more the Spring engine itself rather than SPADS, but if you could help, it would be great.
My server's PC is located in the same LAN where my gaming PC is. Both PCs share the same internet connection and thus have identical external IPs. So, when I'm trying to play on my dedicated server from gaming machine, gaming PC cannot connect to the server. I'm not pro in this sphere, but i think it happens because gaming pc thinks that server's ip is his own external ip...
I thought, it was because 8452 UDP port being forwarded to gaming PC. I changed dedicated server's port in config to 8453 and forwarded 8453 UDP to the server's PC. Even when I'm trying to connect to server's 8453 port, connection fails. Why?
Changing server's port helped in other games. Why it doesn't work here? What should I do? Thanks.
There shouldn't be any problem with this setup, the lobby protocol is desined to handle this case.
You can check SPADS log file, it should contain a line such as "Following local LAN IP address detected: <yourLanIp>". If it doesn't detect your LAN IP address correctly, you can still set it manually ("localLanIp" global setting)
I changed "port", not "autoHostPort". In both logfiles was nothing about "Following local LAN IP address detected: <yourLanIp>". Now I have typed server's IP into "localLanIp" and will test.
P.S.
It works!!! "localLanIp" has helped! Thank you very much again!
