df_28_181_40d is last fully working version, ive reverted back

I modded df so arrows do 20 pericing dam (from 100)
crossbows do 30 (from 100)
lolzy instakills from arrows still happen all the time, but now its a tiny bit less ridiculous

and yeah, i prefer to equip my entire military with hammers

Best megaproject ever. A Dwarf Dwarf Fortress that pisses and craps Magma.

I believe I specified this avatar around Christmas of 2008... and I believe at that time it was an update to an existing Christmas avatar that I had kept for the entire previous year.

The statue you mean? There are mods for DF to render the map in 3D. You can't play in real time like that though. It just captures a 3D "screenshot" of your fortress.

Cant they just make something that turns the game into 3d and uses ascii art for 3d blocks instead of 2d squares?
I wanna play this game in 3d.

By the way have the major problems introduced a few versions back been fixed in DF?

By the way found this:

Dont know if you are already familiar with it or not.

I use Quickfort and Dwarf Therapist.

As far as graphics packs I have used Mayday in the past as it came with a tutorial but haven't got around to installing it with the 2010 releases.

You could always run the script that converts DF maps into Minecraft maps.

it used to be a wildly popular thread and forum members setup a game between themselves.

Now its died off a bit so it shouldn't really be a sticky anymore.

Away with you Minecraft fanboys. Go back to your blasphemous thread!

Armok will have your soul.

Anyone knows if stonesense devs want to allow players to control the game through it?

I believe it was a long term goal outside of their current road-map. But I'm probably just guessing.

Wow I have never been to the Off Topic Discussion, and the first time I come I see DF brought up!

I actually learned about Spring from the DF forums about half a year ago.

Also about stonesense I remember reading that that was a goal.

Anyways I have been playing DF for the past 5-ish years back in the days of the 2D no z-levels. I am surprised it is so popular here.

Ya, we had a good fun time with DF for quite a while. It's been a while since this thread has been very active in discussion, but as you can see it once was thriving.

I haven't played the most recent Dwarf Fortress patches, I should get back to it though, the pet systems sounded pretty interesting.
