Its wonderful to have people wanting to contribute to CA! This is a great design, i like your style! Remember you have to texture it though, so just keep in mind how hard it will be to uvmap and texture when you are considering adding more detail.
However, have you communicated with any members of the CA team at all? I dont know how on the ball the others are (Most of them go 'Models? Not my department!') but they should have mentioned that we have a great Battleship model from Cremuss:
I've spent the last few days uvmapping this behemoth (it is not easy)
Its a shame to duplicate work like this, but your model would surely make a wonderful carrier if you removed the guns, do you think that would be a good idea? You might want to look at Cremuss's other ships, to see if you cant get some design inspiration and match the style.
Anyway, great to have anyone modelling for the project.

Overlord Battle Ship
tried to stay in the basic Overlord design a implemented Different designs to it
overlord had 1 cannon on all the for base so since it was a battleship i put 2 cannons instead ill probably change the cannon base a bit
not finished planing to put more detail. but i don't want to put to much
That looks really awesome so far! I can't wait t see it with a texture and the such!
Saktoth has a good point, though. You want to get in touch with the CA team to make sure your work fits well into the game.
You can find us at #ca in the lobby, and maackey, Saktoth, and myself are probably the most knowledgeable about CA's model status, so You probably want to ask one of us.
Saktoth and midknight dont you guys remember me i was in the need Ca models forum asking if i could help out. you guys pointed out what kind of models you where looking for. then i was looking for what type of design/artwork then you guys redirected me to the CA site.
and yeah thats the kind of Reference i was looking for i probably can making the design around that if you want me to it will take time tho.
TL;DR. Remove the guns. Make it a carrier. Its great.
MidKnight is being silly Ryan.
You should stay in touch though, if you want to prevent yourself from duplicating work. The best way to do this is through tickets on the CA site, and the #CA channel in the lobby. But you can just keep us posted here if you like. There are a lot of people working on it (though not as many as we'd like or need) so its important to stay coordinated, and there is a lot of half-finished work like Cremuss's ships, which are high quality, but have no uvmaps or textures. Just dont make your model as complex as Crems Battleship is or your will tear your eyes out trying to uvmap it.
Your model probably makes an even better carrier than it does a battleship though, so its no great loss. We have a carrier, but it is 3do third party, so its up for replacement, and we can use yours.
Im happy to report that 1faction has almost all the models it needs to be IP free, you can see progress on the ModelNotes page. Ships are the only big gap, so you're on the right track. Luckily, Cremuss made us four ships, which are very attractive models. Sadly, he only textured one, and i cut it up to make another and then textured a third. So there are 2 more ships he made that still need finishing. I am working on the battleship, above, and there is one more that needs doing (partly because its weapon assortment is odd and im not sure what im going to do with it, role-wise):
Here are the two finished ones to give you an idea of his design style:
So, if you could try and match that style, it would help to bring the ship into cohesion, design wise, with the others. The key features are the front and back hull sections, with a thin piece in the middle that supports a tower, with horizontal strips around the towers. These have red 'eye' stripes in them, thus:
Your model is already very close to this, but could probably do to be a bit more harshly angular (if you could post a shot without smoothing that would be good).
One of the problem with Cremuss's models is that they are long and thin, and the Spring engine handles long and thin very badly. Dont worry about this too much though.
So thats the status of our models, what about the status of what roles we want ships to actuall fill? Well, as ModelNotes says, we need a submarine, a light scout boat, and a cruiser. Thats from most important to least important.
Ships are still subject to change, because nobody ever seems happy with them, so just having a variety of ship models is good enough.
Finally, as for improving our models (rather than just being IP free) we need spiders right now. A good, basic spider model that we can move the legs around, change the texture a bit and swap out the weapons could go a long way towards making up a bunch of units for which we are still using the evolva models (3rd party derivative 3do but not OTA).
On something this big you can go nuts, as many pollies as you like. Spherebot is 1k and you get dozens of them, crems battleship is only 2.2k polygons and its absurdly complex. You will never get more than 1-3 carries/battleships so dont worry about the capacity of the engine to handle any geometry.
Here is an xcf (gimp) file for the Corvette. It relies heavily on ambient occlusion and normal generation using GPU meshmapper (the bottom three layers), which i can do for you if you're interested.
