I have compiled spring_0.81.2.1 from source. 1. Compilation and installation was successful on my Fedora11 desktop. 2. downloaded mods and maps and installed in ~/.spring/XXX directories.
when I start spring, it does not simply start and below is the output:
Any help in this, is really appreciated.

we prefer if you to post infolog.txt as file or through pastebin.com, next time. I do not know your GFX card.. Intel G33 ... i just know that Intel is generally bad, and especially under linux (OpenGL wise). 945G series eg, are practically unusable.

Possibly you don't have any mods/maps installed, to do so use SpringLobby or download them here and move them to the corresponding directory in ~/.spring.
I have mods and maps with me and that to in correct directory. Probably that is the reason, I am able to select maps and mods from Spring window when launch spring& command (sorry for my language as I am new to spring game.)
I am ok even my current hardware does not give me good gaming performance as I am thinking to change my Graphics card later. My basic expectation is that this game should work.
Anyways thanks alot for all your replies, but still I am blocked.
what jk is trying to say, is not that you will have to play with low details, but that you will not be able to play at all, cause you will have 1FPS at the start of the game with lowest details, and it will get worse over time. So there is little sense in trying everything to get the game running on this system. Best is, just try again when you have the new card.
When the same has been compiled for windows-xp, on my dual boot system, game works with the same Card (This is the reason, why I kept windows running on my system.)
GFX card drivers for linux are nearly always worse then the ones fro windows. NVidia has generally the best Linux drivers, while ATI and Intel have them medium-very bad. And as Intel's card are generally of lower performance -> Linux & Intel & Spring -> forget it.
