For discussions sake, and 'cos it'll be interesting, who do you think are the current best 5 xta players and why?

I guess you could also throw in some old, retired players if you want...

Based on personal preference of play style and just pure epicness:

5. Noruas

Funny how this worked out, but the reasons behind it are rather evident. Babbles because he is simply the best period, even when he is "rusty". Me because of 1v1 icy run. Dojeh because of airconspam and just general awesome and skill similar to babbles. Floris because he is dutch. Noruas because he made the mod and knows all the super op units to build like the fleagoth and armfly.

Dunno, but ask about someone and i sure can shovel shit about his Playstyle.

Yourself Babbles, are the best player in current balance.

Im not sure if pintle can defeat you well. i think he can, but not seen it.
His playstile is a mystery to me, i think he idles 90% the time. Has aid bots and plays by weather.

Queles has worked out his style and has great improvements. He is still low in inmediate reaction yet. promising.

scifi has special nomination, hermuld is doing very good latelly, whulax has improved lots.

Lfing does not spam guardian any more.

Noruas not seen him play in a while.

Angel used to own, dunno why he does not play frequently, boring for him maybe.

Oh, deadly days, has great things, not yet learned his style though.

Who is faerie?

tmo, i know he is good, but not sure exactly how much. dont know his style, he uses rocko.

Im sure Ray does pretty good too.

Dearlordanimal is a good teamplayer, but not sure how well he does. not bad in any case.

Floris will bent you to your knees, in 1v1 good metal map.
In team he does good, but lacks a little macro/final hit in bigger battles.

Uttuki is as good as angel. plays as little.

Seba does vgood for being BA.

I would own in 66se, its odd how it still flows in me, its an old poison.
good enough in unchanged 959.

i never could ponder SJ very well, i was too bad myself at the time, and there are just 2? replays of him. he played idle too, with one hand tied to his back, while programming spring3.
He was supposed to be invincible.

Tying your hand behind your back to play isn't that hard, I do that from time to time.

I don't play a lot of XTA, but I would say Dojeh, Pintle, Babbles, Tribulex and Noruas. I know from seeing a lot of replays in my time.

For me,Its hard to say,with the radical transformation that XTA has undergone not so long ago through a series of releases but Id say IMO RAY is still #1.
If its not cause of his natural skills that were honed on playing BA than it is cause of the fact he is probably the most competitive player in the XTA community in the recent time of 1-2 years.
If babbles and Trib are top 2 players than I am interested in a match and I challenge them to play vs me.

and imo queles has got worse, still good but not as good.

If I could ever be sure if Babs was actually trying, I would be more inclined to rate him highly, regardless, he is very fun to play with/against.

Most challenging 1v1 opponents:

Googlefrog has excellent micro, gave me a 1 hour 30 minute 1v1 when he had next to no mod knowledge.

Det is quite relentless if you cant build the momentum in the early game.

Tmo can grind you down if the game goes on long enough for him to get a foothold on the map.

Sabutai on peak form is a god amongst men.

Ray has not been #1 for a VERY long time. I beat him on avalanche with morph push... I would also suggest that he has not been active enough to be the most competitive XTA player for a good year or two.

Tbh I would rate "the proper xta players" much higher if they ever played 1v1 on larger maps. It is a huge hole in most people's game. A lot of the general spring players could wipe the floor with a lot of the "XTA elite" imo.

You cant really have a best player at team games, allies decide too much.
So best players imo are (well players to give me a decent game since i started playing again) TMO, stevezizzzzu (needs to stop using BA tactics) queles (needs to be less idle).
Thats about it, i remember seba and sabutai used to be good but they dont seem to play much anymore.
Also to people who beat me once, everyone loses from time to time, beat me 4/5 times then you can call yourself good :)

if we talk about the current situation then i suppose ray is the thoughest enemy atm. havent played vs pintle for a while though.

mapsize is also an important factor. babbs may be very dangerous on small maps. kudos for most innovative and uncommon tactics.

Of the "XTA scene" people, only pintle and Noraus ever impressed me in 1v1.

I mean their playstyle, not personal clanhate trollmongery.

Babbles i mean. queles has developped new tactics, and is using those very wise latelly, i dont recalled that from him.

Some top BA players, do very good in xta. I wonder how incredible good they would become if put more effort in developping tactics in the mod. And if it would be fun to us...

who gets annoyed? I find the ba players (steve, basic, sab) to be the only ones who dont complain. Its pretty much just a 'gg' always. but with xta players its often a list of excuses which i find quite funny :)
