Okay this is stupid how things have gotten

XTA Website

porn porn everywhere, since we have this forum, is there anything to be saved on the XTA forums on darkstars? Pintle sort the mess out and backup what you need and leave or fix it ffs

UI

Look at the GUI for BA, then look at XTA, then grab some tissues to stem the blood gushing out your eyes.

dum de dum

Is this some sort of epic troll by the XTA modders? I'm playing and I hear the stupid vocal sound that's totally out of place =s

Nanoturrets

Nice, but if your going to do nanoturrets, do it properly. Just look at how much fail the core nanoturret is, it doesnt even turn its nanolathe to point at the thing its building!!!?!?!

On UI:
XTA devs contact me if your interested in my UI plus (sample), but basically any ui will do.

Dum de dum:
Retarded troll idea that really went too far, should be culled asap imo.

1) pintle doesn't maintain the forum and was never going to too. hence we have an XTA subforum now i suppose the old forum is obsolete.

2) there are no "modders", there is just one modder, noruas who ... let's say got bored of XTA. you could say we're looking for a new moddev >_>

dum de dum: what's wrong with dum de dum? The sound sample is all the way from original total annihilation and is an elegant way to maintain a red line and a connection to it.

I like your UI from a technical perspective but it has a horrible marmite effect, since some people like the aesthetics, whereas others such as myself don't like that style at all

Im tempted to personally release an XTA 9.6 given 2 or 3 hours of fixing.

One more thing about the dum de dum: it provides a nice way of taunting a comless opponent.

A website is important for attraction and retention. 1944 started with fewer people than XTA and has benefited greatly from a site. Same with other projects.

nobody is against a website, its the old forum that is now useless.

the default UI is crap, i agree. i am using a customized one.

AF, youre welcome to become the new xta (co-)dev. there are some things that need fixing really badly, like flash beeing totally up. just contact noruas first.

The consensus appears to be nuke from orbit, orbtial bombardment will commence within 24 hours.

I could make an XTA website but tbh I dont have buckets of time, or the desire to invest in it as it is. I'm not going to pick up as fulltime content developer, this is more of a necessary intervention.

Bring up a list of changes, if they remain undisputed I might try them and upload for testing.

xta is now a mod for a really small group

@dumdedum i like it, really good implementation

@ui we are pros enough to use iceui or lolui by our self

@fix there is really something that has to be fixed (e.g. some unit scripts, also some better available modells), maybe also some cleaning of the source, but we like it

edit:

webside why do we need one?

fixing please join #xta and ask the players and join some games

As of now XTA is just broken. A new release (or bug fix) should be made asap! Even if it is only to fix flash/peewee.

If someone (noruas, AF, anyone else) wants to do some testing with new stats for the EMG/pw/flash you can contact me (FlorisXIV, DearLordAnimal) in the lobby. Ill be happy to help with that.

A major new release of XTA with adjusted sea can wait imo. That would take a lot more testing. To me the current sea is playable (to refer to the other topic).

*gui: Never had any troubles with XTA gui. I like its simplicity ^^
*dum de dum: It is a joke, who cares! Maybe for serious ppl: a modoption to disable the sing button and receiving songs ? :s
*nanos: thats only a graphical thingie, doesnt have any impact on the gameplay. tbh i never noticed that!
*site: Yes, just take it out imo. We can use this.

One issue that merits discussion is the area impact of the nuke. Imo it's just too large, on smaller maps you can just fire it away without any scouting, and I don't think that has ever been the intention. So I think it should have smaller radius, and maybe also some targetting uncertainty.

Maybe a new topic on nukes?

New xta with unfucked flash might actually see me log into the lobby.

Remove sing and I will stab you in the face.

That is all.

You don't need permission to make an updated version of XTA, its just often damn important to be on the same page. Yes there are a lot of issues in XTA that needs fixing. Tribulex is learning lua so one day XTA could have its very own gui, which hopefully well be very pimpilicious. It would be a bit difficult if you do not know what your doing but you can set a reload time to sing to maybe a second.

You know it would be nice for awhile that after doing version 7 to now to have at least one version done by someone else that labels what they think is important to be fixed, I really lack perspective and after a while you start to see it.

There is a lot of xta widgets that need updating such as xp_ranks, prospector, diplomacy.

Co-Op, I was working with Brain Damage on that and just couldn't get it work.

King of the Hill default should be changed.

It isn't my mod so I am totally up for our tiny community to finally do something about it.

As for the xta website, I have no controls over it so whoever does, which I believe is "Pintle?" should probably take it down.

Flashes buff of weapon accuracy is the issue of the next release, (and a little love to the peewee would help too!)
