I dunno who runs eXe's Free-For-All-Arena, so I'm posting this here.
First, mad props. This is a fantastic idea - while BA FFA is flawed, it's still a good romp. The server works nicely and is a great time.
Now, of course, my complaint:
Needs more maps. It's stuck on Neurope most of the time, which, while a cool map, is very flawed - the player who can take Iceland/england has a secure base while the others are struggling to survive on the violent mainland.
So, anybody know some good large-scale FFA maps? Aavikko comes to mind, and NightScape. Anybody know who runs this thing so we can get those maps onto there?
Yesterday we added about 5 Maps besides Neurope, if you have some more good FFA Maps (with at least 3 StartPositions) suggest them here in this Topic and I'll add them then.
I'll add NightScape today and maybe AavikkoV2, too.
Well, there's also the OTA maps - Greenhaven variants, Mars, etc. Then there's some older Spring maps like MoonQ10x, Castles, Ancient Arena and Sunken Outpost (iirc Sunken was made before some newer lighting effects so it looks like ass now).
It would be very nice if you could also give the "!addbox " commands to create boxes that equal the original startpositons, that's a quite annoying job to figure this out for more than 10 maps alone

Thanks for you suggestions so far. I've decided to add these maps as soon as I get bibim's SPADS, because it supports native Random-Startpositions and so I don't have to spend hours for figuring out suitable Start-Boxes for the teams. (He forecasted about one week until the beta-release)

howso? the problem's with spring-dedicated, not the program which controls it. you could mock-up a solution where the host uses startposition=4 using the position's coordinates saved in some sort of DB then use SETSCRIPTTAGS to communicate to all the players (until the new spring version comes out ), but i wouldn't call that native at all, + everyone will still know eachother's start position just by looking at script.txt
EDIT: in fact, all clients do know the map's startpositions, i'd like to know how come the dedicated-server has to know them too? can't it acquire them from clients? is it even really needed for the dedicated-server to know locations?

But I can add some maps if you give me the Coordinates for the !addbox command of springie as this needs a lot of time (that i don't hava at the moment) to figure them out.
