I am indescribably angry right now.

The short story:
-16 year old gay male kid comes out to his parents.
-Parents send kid to boot camp run by "evangelical Christians".

This is legit, there's been a little bit of media attention to it.

So i realy wish people in the future will. NOT remeber us as a bunch of book burning idiots, who restricted progress and humain dignaty to apease a possibly fictional deity that had a nasty mean streak

On the contrary the world si full fo racists and homophobes, nobody talks about ti in papers or on tv because its a taboo subject. It's only mentioned when things like this happen or when violence is involved.

Aside from the fact that most of it is driven by fear, homophobic people who alsh out but they dont actually udnerstand what ti si they fear, "oh they'll coem onto me" sort of attitude.

Or just imagine someone who comes from some obscure part of africa who meets a white person at the age of lets say 16 for the first time. They'd be scared, fearful, that can eb said to be racist, but its understandable and can eb forgiven unlike others who fidn their pride and stubbornness too much.

We all expect everything to be all godo nowadays with us being in the modern world. But things that existed for centuries ebfore the 20th century havent died, they've just been covered up by the modern era philosophy as taboo. We're lucky we've gotten as fara s we have already.
