Well, I thought this thread was about remodeling existing OTA units.

Then again, howitzers look a bit different. That's too cartoony. Also those tracks won't work out, especially not when modeling with wings (I've tried it).

Here is what I have done so far.

Image
The Arm Flash with some texturing so to give an idea of what these models will look like after the texturing phase.

I'm first making the models, then after I have at least the tier 1 units done I will start work on UV mapping and texturing.

I love the new models, the metalmakers a vast improvement, as is the wind generator. I look forward to seeing them ingame.

Here's what I'll do, if I get around to it, I'll do Core units, because you all only like Arm for now. I just need to FIGURE OUT HOW TO UVMAP FROM WINGS FIRST WHY IS NOBODY HELPING ME, THERE IS NO TUTORIAL HERE EITHER.

wait a minute, why do Runecrafters textures look E&E quality? Is he our only texturawr? The man who is believe to have been mean enough to spawn Speedmetal from the bowels of the underworld of spam, made these models, I must say, I'm shocked.

There are tutorials floating around all over the place. On this forum and of course all over the internet. UV-mapping is not a hrd thing to do.
Th reason I'm not helping you is my lack of Wings experiance (equals, none).

Looks great rune! Only The arm llt has two little wings on top, which I mis a bit. now people mistake it for a betrha (well, not when scaled).

The arm llt wings are silly, and its a good jbo you removed them. I think that models fine and with a good texture job and scaling in context itll look much better than what we already have.

Aye I thought the wings looked quite silly as well.

I want the new models I make to look similar to the old ones (so people to some extent will recognize them at a glance) yet have a new look that differs from the original models.

I can UV map, just not "well"... and I'm lazy... and my abuse of caffeine coupled with my lack of sleep and evening shifts makes me highly unproductive at anything... nevermind,,,, need to cover up my rant

Those models look the awesome, and in theory we have less of a chance of getting sued the less copyrighted material we use right?

didn't we have a page on the wiki where there was a project for freashening up the CD units?

Looks good but you've got missing edges on some of the models, like the base of the wind generator.
