Just wanted to know if it is possible to make a HPI file with maps in them and make it work with TA:S.
I already tried to get it work, but each time, TA:S tell me 'no map found'. I tried with TA compression algo and TA:CC algo. Neither work.
That's would be nice if it work, because my map folder is getting hudge, and even if TA Algo is not very good, it is better than nothing.
Maybe this is an extension prb. I tried with .ufo and .ccx, none work.
Maps in HPI format

TA maps and spring maps are completely different.
OTA maps cannot be covnerted so easily into spring maps, you need to extract the texture and heightmap and create a enw metal overlay and align them and feed them through a map convertor program to get them in spring format, then you have to change lighting etc in the smd file and brave the map forum and maybe then, if you have met zwzsg aproval you will have your map converted.
Or you could just wait for the rest to port them voer to the new format for you.

Ah, in which case I am sorry for misinterpreting you.
However HAPI archives as they stand wont provide you with much compression, try something such as 7zip or RAR to compress them.
In the mean time I would use that untill buggi releases the tools for HAPI v3 which should offer more variety of compression abilities thus smaller filesizes.

I know that HPI don't give much compression. But for now, TA:S only recognize HPI and not 7zip. So i make what i can with what i have.
And the HPI compression is not that bad, reduce a 300 Mo maps directory to 100Mo HPI...
And i don't have an answer to my question... Does TA:S accept to work with maps in a HPI or not...
