Wanted: Installer tutorial

Post by oksnoop2 »

Just something to show me how to make an installer that will install spring/maps/and rapid. Rapid will have to be noob proof and start when the lobby starts. I guess the lobby would have to automatically reload the maps/mods too.

Keep in mind that any installer you make will probally be outdated in few days. At least that is my opinion when looking at the SVN history.
For multiplayer, players always want to have the latest version obviously.

Do you have:
1) Three icon (as .ico files), for installer, uninstaller, CT single player.
2) Nice screenshots or other art (to decorate the installer margin (164x314) and top border (210x57))
3) A set of map (link plz) to be used with CT.
4) A sd7 or sdz (link plz) to lastest stable.
5) A readme, describing CT, how to play it, etc...
6) A channel on the lobby dedicated to CT. Maybe also other channels you'd like to be autojoined?
7) One or more AI able to play CT.
8) Missions? Chickens? Other sort of SP?
9) A list of widget you consider important to have.
10) Some spring settings you'd rather change the default of.
11) A website or some other URL people should be pointed to.
12) A TASClient skin, or other lobby customisation.
13) Anything else needed for a good CT experience?

Rapid is auto enabled in zero-k lobby. You can use selected.list to tell it what games to auto update when lobby starts.

No, but easy to make.

Kind of a mess right now because some AVÔÇÖs are saying itÔÇÖs a trojan and I donÔÇÖt know how to fix it.

5) A readme, describing CT, how to play it, etc...

6) A channel on the lobby dedicated to CT. Maybe also other channels you'd like to be autojoined?
#ct

7) One or more AI able to play CT.
RAI ÔÇ£worksÔÇØ but itÔÇÖs pretty much retarded. I have higher hopes for shard once a new version of shard comes out.

)Missions? Chickens? Other sort of SP?
Learn to play the game missions would be nice. I also would not mind adding in some kind of survival mode though i doubt that would play well for ct. (though i canÔÇÖt find out till i do it.)

9) A list of widget you consider important to have.
They are all in ctÔÇÖs folder or can be added down the line.

10) Some spring settings you'd rather change the default of.
I donÔÇÖt know the consensus on this but i like to have the clock and fps on, and default player list off.

11) A website or some other URL people should be pointed to.

12) A TASClient skin, or other lobby customisation.
No but I donÔÇÖt really care about skins and do we have to use TAS?

13) Anything else needed for a good CT experience?
Patience and an open mind
